I like this idea just as much because players still get their value for money (if thats what they after).

Another suggestion would be to do double elim up to the Quarters then enter into a straight KO format. 4 from winners side and 4 from losers, and just seed the winners in the quarters.

All depends how many tables you have at your disposal though really, if there are 12-14 tables then 32 man double elim is perfectly reasonable just some guys will have a wait at the start.

Cant wait for this event either way :)
