Take a look at the topic "EPT info required" and the part relating to rankings.

D4RYL. ..... and this is a good move Daryl. Perhaps it should be added to your website (if I've missed it on there I apologise in advance) and any policy information you produce seperately for players, as it will probably be a good selling point. My comments were generic however and not aimed at any particular tour / association. Regards, RT

A little bird tells me that the Wales team is Rob McKenna and Ben Davies, so good luck to them. My time will come one day though!

Ben Davies qualified for the World Championships through a BPPPA qualifier at Lancaster last May, only remember that cause I was there. I believe he is an English Pool Pro but has probably been selected because he played in the World's last year.

Just like to have my say but before I do, I have nothing against Ronnie O'Sullivan, Steve Davis or Jimmy White, But how would those snooker players feel if there was a big snooker tournament that they were left out of and in there place was for example Daryl Peach, Imran Majid or Darren Appleton, it is clear that our chances of winning it are very slim now but I do not think it is about winning it because if it was surly we would have teams like, Imran Majid & Raj Hundal and Daryl Peach and Mark Gray or Darren Appleton I find it hard to believe that Imran or Daryl are not in it they are our two proven best players for me and have played on TV before and have been giving there all around the world to earn the right to play in events like this, sorry had to say it... But I really do hope Ronnie and Raj or Jimmy and Steve bring the trophy home.

Totally agree with you Mark. They have only been put in for commercial reasons and it is not right that our top players are not given a chance in this competition. On a separate issue though, the teams from USA and Philipines are ridiculously strong and will take some beating!

I can to a degree see where you are coming from but Ronnie is in my opinion the most gifted player ever to pick up a cue, whatever disapline of cue sports you wish to discuss, can you really honestly say Ronnie does not have the ability to win major honours in american pool?

I think your missing the point Gaz, with Ronnie, Steve and Jimmy being picked it means that our top UK pool players will be denied the opportunity to compete in this event and get exposure to the public which is what is needed to move the game forward in this country. I could accept maybe one wildcard (maybe Ronnie) and then the others being made up of our countries top players who compete and put the effort into achieving in this sport, they deserve it.

I too, would like to see our top pool players in events such as this, but perhaps the time is not yet ripe. This event and events such as the IPT are commercial ventures, they are not about players or the sport specifically but about making money and I don't have a problem with that. Anyone, be it the IPT or Matchroom Sport or Sky Sports are in business and after investing a mountain of money, are entitled to get their returns. In time, the top pool players will get their deserved exposure but the sport of pool is still in its infancy with regard to television. We have to remember that the great majority of the prospective viewers will not be pool players and will not recognise names such as Majid, Peach and Appleton and in order to sell the programmes it is necessary to have proven audience pullers and household names such as Davis, White and O'Sullivan. Once the general public has taken to pool on television as they did to snooker back in the 60's, things will change and gradually the names that we all know so well will be introduced. But as England we are at a disadvantage when other countries have there top pool players, even Scotland with Pat and Michael, why then do we not give Scotland two teams and put in Stephen Hendry and John Higgins and for Wales Mark Williams and so on, I have no problem in Snooker players being put in there for pulling the viewers and getting pool a better audience for the future but surely then why not have 4 teams for England and give pool players a chance, surely Two English pool players winning this event will be better to raise the profiles to a tv audience for the future.

I would not class Hundal and O'Sullivan as being at a disadvantage. They are both class!
I do agree wi the point though that we need to send our best pool players to give them to coverage that they deserve.
