There's probably well over 100 entrants in this event although I don't know the exact figure.
Despite that, an unbelievable first round draw has paired Imran with Rico. Some might suggest there was a bit of draw rigging going on although I could possibly comment!
Plenty of other big names in the draw including Tony Drago, Anthony Ginn, Kevin Hew, David Walsh and Big Dave Knight. (That's right, the big man actually got his cue out.)

P.s. Not an event for the pool playing purists. The tables are shocking with barely any cloth and they're using club balls. Great if your a local, and don't know any better, but more or less impossible to play on if your not used to them. (Or maybe that's just my excuse as I lost in the first round!)
Anyway this event is what it is. I hope Riley's hold more of these around the country as there's plenty of free burgers and hot dogs and if you get knocked out early you can play poker for free as well! Not bad for £20.

just got back myself, im with you 100%, tables like glass, cant stop the white where you want it, cant pot down the rails with any pace, had more kicks than a thai kick boxer....even imran couldnt pot down the rail with 6-9 inch screw back, hot dogs were good though :-P :-P

Yeah I had a fun day, good seeing the faces. Tables were fast. I was 0-4 down got back to 4-4 and potted the nine and white rolled into the pocket!

Slightly annoying, but there was enough going on to make it worthwhile. And the race to 5 gives everyone a chance. Hope rileys does more of these events.

Look forward to the report Big Dave..

Whoooooopeeeeee!!!!

I lucked out in the first round of the pool, but I won the top prize for the poker cash game, and Pro9's Chris Buckmaster came runner up... Cool eh?

It was a great fun event, lovely free food, nice atmosphere, it was brilliant with so many Pro9'ers coming up to me and introducing themselves.

Roll on the next one!

yeah really good event, well run. shame about the tables were like playing on ice but better than slow tables, and the pockets were weird spitting a perfect rail shot with any more speed than half hit. Rileys should definatly do more of these.

I'm currently uploading a ton of photos from this event into Photobox, so they'll be available to buy as pictures, or on mousemats or even on mugs and shirts if you like!

Joma - they still do the 9-ball comps on sundays. It's every two weeks. Best to speak to St Albans Rileys and ask for Larry.

As for tomorrow. The only concern is how are they going to play all the matches even though they are up to 5? Say its 100 players - 12 tables. Still a lot to get through. But looking forward to it regardless. ;-)
:-)

:-) thanks so much for the info..will try to find larry i guess.

Does anyone know if the London 9 Ball Knockout tournament will happen again this year?
