Ok so no one has contacted the players council with their concerns... Did they really need to? Looking at the depth of feeling in this thread I would have thought it was obvious that people had concerns about things on the tour. And why isn't this site the best place to air views? Seems like a perfect vehicle if you ask me for heathly adult debate. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2006-09-04 10:21 ]

All I'm trying to say is let's bring everything to the attention of the reps then take the whole package to Ted, rather than the current approach as clearly it's not working! At the end of the day, the players council represents all of us and I feel they are the most appropriate people to get all these gripes on a table, unless anyone can think of another approach to all of this? Agreed but this is a great place to start and a good way to gather opinion. There were a few posts slagging people off for posting their views on this forum which IMO is ridiculous. This a discussion forum where the main agenda is UK 9 ball pool and people should feel able to air their views if they wish.

Fine fine words from Darkside.
If all the old women on this site don't stop this rubbish and start being a little more constructive we will end up with no 9ball tour....These posts are starting to make me think this is what you want?

Agree with Darkside, (well, on his first couple of para's anyway!!!) there's a route to get concerns raised, I suggest people start using it. Rather than complain, do something about it....

I would hazard a guess its not the tour but the people running it? As with all things that have little or no competition complacency creeps in. Maybe if someone ran another tour in the UK the BPPPA would ensure all is well for their members because they would be doing their damdest to keep them!

Comments like this don't help, let's make the most of what we have before discarding it and moving onto 'the next best thing', have you not read any of the suggestions in the last 10 or so posts???

Im just saying that with no relevant competition sometimes event organisers get complacent. Players will always stay where they feel is better value for money and where the format suits them best so the BPPPA really would have nothing to worry about if there was another tour about.
Would they?

Hi everyone, i know it says Mark Mills on the name but this is Daryl Peach coming to you from Reno USA, im just using Mark Mills' profile to post a comment as i feel its needed. (couldnt remember my password) Firstly the about the players council........i was actually on the players council last year. We had 1 meeting with several topics too cover. We agreed Unanimously on all issues, passed them on to Ted and waited for his verdict......his verdict was 100% against all our votes on all topics, so whats the point of a players council?....this was the reason i didnt continue to be a part of it. Dont get me wrong, Ted has the right to do whatever he wishes, and thinks what is the best for the BPPPA, but there is absolutely no point of the players council!!!!! Secondly, Lifeisfab has a genuine point there......before when Doug had his tour still in operation i know both tours were doing there best to better the other. This is a very interesting point.....i will leave it there as i am off to watch Tony 'Tornado' Drago in the IPT World Open. D4RYL. [ This message was edited by: MarkMills on 2006-09-04 22:43 ]

I did not join the BPPPA on principle. I only ever entered ranking tournaments for the fun of it. Any thing I could learn from players of a higher standard or greater ability was a bonus. From the comments I've read on the subject it proves once and for all, that the grass does not always grow greener on the other side, and that you can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. Enough said?

I think that what Dayl has said sums it up in a nutshell. He and Mark Gray are the current top 2 players in the country and you will see that they have both made there feelings known. Daryls comments re the players council are absolutely correct, over the past year or so there have been a number of good suggestions offered to Ted which unfortunately have fallen on deaf ears. What more can we do. I beleive a number of these rejected ideas are ones that have been put into place by the EPT, mostly at no financial penalty. I get the feeling that the officials really don't care about the players and the conditions that they HAVE to put up with or simple changes could have been made very easily by now. I would be interested to see what would happen should the EPT decide to offer a 9 ball tour in the future with the same excellent and ever improving standards that they are currently offering.

!!! QUOTE !!! I have to say if the EPT run a 9 ball tour, that will end of the BPPPA, no danger! Remember that entry into the European Championships and the World Pool Championships is through the official representative of the country in question. In the case of the UK, that association is currently the BPPPA and to have that changed is nearly impossible as we have witnessed in Spain. If the intention is to destroy the BPPPA, you might give up rights to International representation.

If the officials didn't care about the players, why the heck would they bother even running the BPPPA?
It's not like they are living the high life from it.
or are they?
