Sorry Jonathan it had completely slipped my mind. Updating now.

Come on you lot, we must be able to put another team together from the Midlands?? If we haven't by next week I'll have to let the Ipswich or Barnsley lot in :-(

no worries. will have a word with the central Birmingham Rileys gang and see if they can't stick the same side from last year in. Don't let those Ipswich or Barnsley lot in - they talk funny!

Final teams now confirmed. This tournament has been amended to 6 teams of 6 with a slightly amended format. I have updated the original post on this thread.

I am sure that this will be a great fun event.

See you all on the 14th :-)

This Sunday is the Midlands Mosconi Cup 2008

Good luck to everybody taking part. Please make sure that you are all there by 10:30am

I have the trophies for the winners and runner-ups. I just need Rack 'n' Roll to bring the shield back that they have proudly kept since we last ran this event in May 2007.

For those players in one of the 2 Solihull teams, last night we threw the 12 names into a hat (well a pint glass actually) and drew them at random:

Solihull A
Andy Warden (C)
Tom Emes
Tony Fry
Simon Corke
Jon Steele
Dave McNally

Solihull B
Paul Burnett (C)
Lee Gallier
Paul Dukes-Thomas
Jamie White
John Rathbone
Allen Coton

The other teams taking part are:

Rileys, Rugby
Rileys, Moseley
Rack 'n' Roll (Leicester)
Super 6 (Leicester)

See you all on Sunday :-)

I think I'd struggle to make that team Tom. Your forgetting Stevie Wonder who would surely be picked before me.

Just got back in from Solihull. Pleased to say that Moseley (who I play for) beat Solihull B in the Final. It was an absolutely brilliant day. great fun and played in good spirit. Well done to Andy Warden who organised the event which ran very smoothly and commiserations to the runners up Solihull B. Looking forward to retaining the trophy next year.

Tiring day, right team won in the end. Pleased to have got to the final but i think the semi final victory against last years winners took a lot out of our team

We all really enjoyed the day so thanks Andy for putting it together again.

Thanks to everyone who took part in this event and made it such a success once again!!

Also thanks for your kind words and encouragement both on here and to me on the day. It's nice to know that you're appreciated for all the work that goes into these sort of events.

Finally thanks to Riley Solihull for letting us stage the event and to the fantastic staff who looked after us so well... as always :-)

Andy Warden

PS Report/results sent to Big Dave so look out for it soon. And please support Pro9 by buying your team photo from his link in previous post :D
