well done daryl!
bad thing is go on sky sports main page and there isnt a mention of it!! after all the close calls from the other english/british teams this year, you'd think they would show the NEW WORLD CHAMPION!

(Riggers using Shir's logon) Just can't believe it and I have to keep pinching myself. What a win & What a match! So proud of Daryl for this achievement. This is going to do great things for UK Pool. Just think, everyone of the 96 players who joins GB9BT will have a chance to play a world champion! How good is that! Also many cograts to Boyzi once again for a fantastic debut at the WPC. With Darren also threatening to do some damage and Mark having made the break through by winning the EuroTour we are fast becoming one of the strongest nations in the world at this sport. Success breeds success so I can only see it getting better. [ This message was edited by: shir on 2007-11-11 13:54 ]

Isn't it great to have another world pool champion from the UK. Perhaps he can go on to win another 3, just like the last one.

Isn't it odd that a 4 time world pool champion would be overlooked? You figure it out.

WPA sanctioned world 9 ball champion. 3 years in a row. Then again a couple of years later.

bingo!!! I'm not going to take anything away from Daryl's acheivement. Great win. Exciting final. Great for the sport. And there's no reason why it shouldn't be splashed all over the sports section of the evening news. But lets not forget that England already has had a great world 9-ball champion in the women's event - which is less well publicised for no good reason as far as I can tell. She'd have given Daryl a run for his money.

Fair enough. I guess we'll never get a definitive answer on that one. each to their own! That comment about BBC sports personality of the year is an interesting one. If Daryl's acheived so much in europe, I would have said he's a contender - but of course he won't even get a mention.

If it was based on pure achievement and not sport popularity, Daryl would certainly be a contender, but unfortunately that is not how it works
