As it says there will be 32 options for top players to pay in and 32 qualifiers where players can enter for £30ish without sponsorship there is no other way to get good payouts although I am trying to work on some sposorship for it.

Totally agree with Dyno.....if your a tournament winner you should find the cash to enter.....these events are far and few between! Both Mark Gray and Neil Raybone should be in this event....both EPT event winners, which may i add ... takes something special to acheive! Both class acts, and i rate Mark, without doubt right up there with the best under presure! Its a shame. -----------------

Ding had a very important comp on that weekend - a memorial event for peter price (wales 'a' manager) who passed away last october - he meant the world to Ben and the rest of us Welsh pool community, myself included..... and is still sorely missed at Welsh tour events. However, this event (memorial event) has come under critisism from a lot of people and may not go ahead for quite a few reasons and another better planned event will take place later in the year. Just posting to make it clear that this is the only reason why he pulled out...... even if the tournament was FREE entry (which it is for him anyway as he gets backed!!!) he would still have attended the memorial weekend had it been going ahead in full. cheers [ This message was edited by: chippedtip on 2007-02-08 23:05 ]

It does seem a bit of a farce that players can keep entering and then pulling out. I'm quite surprised people have not been asked to pay in advance. This was one of the problems for the special event in Norway. one minute there were 16 entrants at 500 EUR, then next minute there were 11, then 8... What will you do if 10 people pull out just before the event? If it were my tournament I would get money up front for something as big as this and only give refunds once someone on the reserve list has accepted the spare place and paid their entry. Closing date for entries has always been set, it is 23rd February where most overseas players have told us they are paying during Czech Open, received Souquets today.
