Shir's not one for changing the format after it's published so I'm sure it's double knockout til last 8. She'll calculate how long the races need to be when she knows how many runners turn up on the day. We'd all like race to 10 I'm sure but that won't be possible with 50 runners double knockout on 15 tables in one day. I'm pretty sure it will be at least races to 7 on the winners side though. You'll just have to ask the boss tomorrow!

Parking at club.... If you arrive early you should get a place on the street. Otherwise take the left turn about 50 yards before the club entrance and follow the road behind the club to the end. There is a car park on your left hand side, which is free on Sundays. [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2007-06-09 17:02 ]

Apparently they started the semis a couple of hours ago, so it's almost certainly all over now, but unfortunately the server is down at the club so the internet is unavailable and Shir will have to wait to update news and results from home...
She's going to be pretty tired though, so give her a little time, maybe late tomorrow morning eh?

The standard of pool was outstanding all day and it was a very enjoyable event. Congratulations to Mark Gray who narrowly beat Chris Melling in an excellant final. Thanks to everyone who took part today for all your support especially those who travelled long distances.
We are both very tired now as we are working early in the morning (but not half as tired as Kerry & Mark will be by the time the get home to Peterborough!).
Some results are posted now but more to follow tomorrow.
Thanks again,
Shir & Riggers.

Thanks Neil. We are lucky to have such a nice club in Barnsley but also it's the staff that make it too. Anyone who played yesterday will know how hard they worked (in very hot conditions!) to keep all the players fed, watered and generally well looked after yesterday. They were as excited about holding the first tournament in the club as we were and I can't parise them enough for their enthusiasm and the effort put in to make the day run smoothly for the players. Everyone seemed to agree that the tables were superb too. Nice speed and cut of pockets just perfect. Let's hope we get a great turn out now for the 9 ball in Barnsley on 28/29 July.
