Just a suggestion - Why not have 3 or 4 of these events a year and give the top 4 of each EPT event free entry into the next Grand Masters.

Good idea pool ace,but its the same old problem if players are getting free entry then the prize fund becomes a lot lower! The only reason this tournament has a £6,000 prize to the winner is because of the ultra high entry fees.

Good point Mark. Having said that, I think the organisers of these events should be looking for ways to link them together. If players can see a ladder structure in place they may be more inclined to start getting on at the bottom rung.

All boils down to money though doesn't it!! Not knocking the idea (it's a good one!), just hard to implement!

I agree with you Si,good idea but the bottom line is that we need sponsors! The proof is in the pudding that you cant keep puttin entry fees up to help the prize funds,EPT have put fees up and got a poor turn out last week, the BPPPA have put fees up and they r gettin slightly smaller fields and this Grand Masters tournie at £500 entry + all other costs goes to show it doesnt matter how good you are if u aint got the cash you cant play!!!!!!!! It has to be the money why the likes of B Davies N Raybone and myself and others that r not playin?!?!,
look forward to see in you this wkend mate,

                             Mark.

Hi Guys,
There are more biggies in the pipeline and already under construction, the next one being 9-ball, 64 entries, 32 invites, 32 qualifiers, still high entry fee but not as high.

Will keep you posted.

Exactly Mark! See you @ the weekend pal.

Millsie, are these 'extra events' money added, or are you expecting people to pay out hundreds to enter?
