Just been looking at a couple of possibilities and have come up with the following (based on 32 players entering)
Winner: £150 cash + entry to Mickey Flynns Runner Up: £100 3rd/4th: £75 5th-8th: £35
Total paid out = £640 (32 entries x £20)
Opinions??

£20 is low enough if you ask me. I'd prefer more prize money. With 16 players my suggestion is:
Winner - £100 entry + £100 2nd - £80 3rd/4th - £20
That assumes you are not keeping admin charges and rileys are not taking a cut.

Our posts crossed but that looks very sensible to me based on 32 entrants.

I'm quite happy to not take a cut Riggers, so to some extent i will have to work out the prize money on the day depending on number of runners.
Thats the plan i think then guys, reduced entry into the Mickey Flynns tournament means more prize money and better value in Skybluejims !

I agree with Riggers that £20 is low enough so a split on entry and prize money would be cool

Id like to play in a qualifier and one suggestion of course dependant on entries.... 1st place recieves entry(£100)= ex,s eg hotel/petrol. estimated£200 then award the rest accordingly after all the event is a prize of a place in the event not a competiotion where prize monies are paid out! otherwise you get scenarios like ""i dont want to play in the event il just take the cash" be careful guys on the approach, thopugh im sure all will be ok
love benny x

LMFAO!
Maybe you should wait for the Barnsley qualifier where you're expenses won't be so high.

do you not think with 32 runners its not approiate to give the winner a spot in the event and hotel in cambridge if the resources are there? i think that is well within reason riggers to be honest! i believe you may have misread my post! all appoligies well recieved

Oh ok get you now. Thought you meant expenses to Coventry. Expenses in Cambridge should be no more than £100 to be honest so what's wrong with what me & skybluejim suggested in the first place?

Just chipping in .... I think it has to be the entry fee + cash and the winner can spend the cash how they like. What happens if somebody won who could commute to Cambridge ? The first proposals looked cool to me and a lot easier for Jamie to sort out who is doing us a favour by running the event. Cheers Simmo

Unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out. I don't like doing that and wouldn't normally but have some progress with my house sale so need that weekend free now to get stuff sorted before the EuroTour in Germany.
Still a decent turn out for a qualifier though.

Looks like a good tournament again Jamie. I may be able to come, not sure yet, depending on hangover ha ha. If not, then good luck with the comp and hope to see you at another event soon.

It looks as though we wont reach the 32 entrants tony so if you do fancy it sunday morning make sure you come along!
There is also a monthly english pool tournament on sunday which starts at 1pm also at hertford place rileys and it would be possible to play in both if anybody is interested.
The english pool tournament is £10 entry, straight knockout (first to 7 every round), played to world rules. All entry money is given out in prize fund and there is a guaranteed first prize of £200 which at least two people who have put their names down for the 10 ball have previously won (Mr Singh and Mr Raybone).
