He didn't need the practice, I did :-D :-D

Anyway, they were handing out flyers at the venue.

I accept that the air con couldn't be felt on the middle aisle tables but they could closest to the wall where I played my first match.

It was still cooler in there than outside I can tell you!

A few answers for /

As Diamond said, there were quite a few tables in the nearby vicinity although they were only bar tables.
There are very few 9' tables in Seville so we can't be held responsible for that.
I am inclined to agree that the different cloths may have been influential but that was the result of a sponsorship deal with both Gorina and Simonis but I have to say that that didn't influence your first game.
I think that you were just having an off day and that happens to everyone now and then.
The air conditioning was working better at the end where the 9' tables were than it was at the other end.
In the tournaments in the UK, do they have practice tables available?
I know you had to wait until Saturday for your first game but when you have 200 + players, it is better to let 4 groups play to a conclusion rather than let everyone have a game and then wait 7 or 8 hours for the next.
You arrived on Wednesday but all the publicity said that the tournament started on Friday at 6.00 pm
All the tables, cloths and the Aramith Pro balls were brand new......
If you get that in your local club, you are very lucky.
Anyway, I was very pleased to see you and your fellow Brits, I was really hoping that one of you would win but it was not to be, hope you will be coming over either in September or December to Malaga.

I understand about the the cloths, but to use 2 different sets of balls in an event of this size was bad .... especially when they were different weights and the cue balls reacted so different.

The 2 matches that i lost were with the dodgy balls....its not sour grapes as im not lke that, its just facts.

Do you like my name plate then?

These were the two sets of balls used, which ones are you saying are "dodgy" I will be happy to pass your comments on to Saluc, makers of Aramith and who were one of the sponsors.
I thought that the only difference in these two sets was the colours of the 4 and the 12.
I am happy to be contradicted.

Thats the problem Peter, your not a player (top level i mean)....there is nothing wrong with either set, but they both play totally different, so you shouldnt have both sets in one event....its as simple as that!
So there is no need to "pass my comments on to Saluc"

Every player i spoke to mentioned this also so its not just me.......take it as advice for next time, rather than critisism for this.

Then its upto you and the spannish federation if you want to use it.

yeah i played same set of balls all way through upto qf then got the other set with lighter cueball..wasnt too happy......only fault i really have with anything .everything else was very very well run and well done to them.......sorry forgot only other fault i had was i played trash lol all week except one match!

i think shane appleton my brother took a great scalp in daryl peach 7-2 its first time his played 9ball for 10years didnt even have a cue or practise b4 arrived and to top it off he played with a broken elbow which he did fallen over a wall on wed night lol..and still got to last 32 but run out of painkillers sunday and played in a lot of pain but still good showing!

was very enjoyable week thanks peter......
