Congratulations Imran, you deserve the win, I was watching you play a few of the other matches, you looked to be hitting the ball great and really focused. Congrats also to Mark! fantastic result mate! 6 Brits + Tony in the last 32 is a fantastic result for the UK. Hope you all had as much fun as I did in Weert, see you all in Switzerland! To all of the UK players who played in the Eurotour in Weert. I hoped that you had a good time over here, me and my staff did our best to serve you in the best way. See you all at the Eurotour 2008 or during the 9th Open Weert. MH HOB Weert ----------------- [ This message was edited by: HOBWEERT on 2007-09-17 18:17 ]

well done imran great result pal.
watched few of his games! big match was when 8-8 with souquet and souquet missed a straight 9ball into corner cueball only 2 foot away from 9ball and 9ball on its spot just the slightest of angles! and MISSED! imran won the next to win! but with all matches i watched on the sunday he was a deserved winner .
myself i had no excuse just played bad well worst than bad!
heres to my view and many top players view on tour conditions the conditions and rules as opened the doors up for everybody u no longer need to have a good safety game ,pockets are just way to big,and the break rule is just bad imo! guaranteed 1-5 balls of break virtually all time! its become 6ball as the coach of holland says johan and at this level of play its just too easy which means no matter how good ur u need lots of luck! and it seems all you need to do more times than not ,Is Hit the break at medium pace long as got shot on lowest ball after break then its pretty much game over unless opponent as major twitch! and all of a sudden theres maybe over 60 players capable of winning tour!
also a few top players in europe have told me they are seriously thinking of not playing next year unless things change!
Go to states or asia you got to have good break or break well! 4/1/2 pockets! no tapped balls! alternate break more times than not!! now thats more like it its tougher and some safety got to be played! and earn your chances and the balls got to be potted cleaner!
marcus chamat played a match i watched was just crazy! he never once at to play a kick shot . have never seen that anywhere else in world
Quote from fabio petroni pretty much sums it up ....... All of a sudden we are all champions lol!
but having a good chat with gre landers today sounded encouraging!! he said all future tours the pockets will be shimmed to 4/1/2! so thats a massive plus! and it really should be alternate break but not sure if that will happen!
but way things stand at moment on euro tour the top players are getting punished, all round game not really needed under these conditions!! dont need to have good break! and i feel its not good for european players looking at the bigger picture for those players when get onto world stage under tougher conditions where safety and a big break will be just as important as potting balls i fear against asians and americans who play under tougher conditions all time will have a very big edge! well i know they will because have seen the standard compared to european tour and played tournamenmts and money matches in america and asia so i know its tougher i know people like neils fiejen etc are relieved to be playing proper pool when come to event in states ,asia, matchroom events!
but like i said to gre today the tour looks good and the set up is quality and am sure it will get bigger and with him saying all future tours will be shimmed pockets was very encouraging for me and many other players am sure!
dynamite... telling my opinion!
ps dynamite ..just want us to be on same level playing field as rest of world!!

Yeah well done Imran. played well all week from what i saw. As a lot of you know, this was the cut-off point for the rankings for the Mosconi cup....who ever finished number 1 is defo in....so Stepanov is defo in Mosconi cup so i guess a congrats should go to him too! There was massive presure on the guys at the top of the rankings/in contention for number1 spot, and because of this there was a lot of twitching going on! You can get a feel for this just by looking at the last-16 stage.....only Neils, Jonni, and myself were left in the tourny from the players in contention......and only myself left in the quarters. If i had won that match i would have snatched the number1 spot, which would have given me that guaranteed Mosconi place. I was 6-1 down in the match, then battled to get to 8-7 up....with 3 balls left i got the biggest "kick" in pool history when simply rolling a ball in....the rack was over and would have been 9-7 up! Instead he levelled at 8-8 and i never saw another pot! It can be a cruel game at times! Still, ranked number3 and everything to play for! So i take it you lot will be havin a flutter on Me and Imran for the World cup of pool next week? hehehehe The form horses i guess! Dazzler.......ready for anything -----------------

I know exactly how you feel Daryl! Just needed the one match against Hybler to go top too! Hybler had TWO Golden breaks in that match with 9 kicked into "yellow" pocket on both occasions. I on the other hand, had two "dry" breaks, with balls hitting the middle pocket knuckles... that was the difference in our match. So tough luck to both of us. Hopefully you'll get a Mosconi spot anyway based on your recent results. You might have to fight Imran for it though! [ This message was edited by: jonni on 2007-09-18 11:13 ]

fantastic result for Jim - Well done mate, final could have gone either way, both players had chances but Imrans coolness under pressure was the difference i think.
Daryl and Jonni Very unlucky - both as consistent as ever and both could have stole the place from Stepanov with a bit more luck - shame it did come down to a bit of bad luck rather than a great shot or dish etc... guess that comes down to what Darren says up top a bit??
assive congratulations go out to Mark Gray on a fantastic tournament for him. never stopped potting or going for his shots and got the run when he needed it which at times was just reward for bravery. Not embarrassed to say Mark spanked me 10-2 to deliver my worst defeat in a while - could give a happy to be alive story but i wont, WP to Mark - well happy for you mate and pleased you went on to some massive results. Good to see Kev Uzzell back on form narrowly missing out to Daryl 10-8 in a "Tense" match. amazing what a tip change can do for your confidence mid way through a tourne! - good skills mr Rigby!!!
A mention for Matt Lawrenson who beat me 10-9 and almost qualified for the last 32 and then narrowly missed out on a world spot in the qualifier. well done mate - your time will come......
The Last Word has to go to Boyzi - Played very well on Sat to beat Van Den Berg and also jus lost out to Daryl - but he won the WPC Qualifier and is going to manilla - What a great achievement that is. congrats mate - chuffed to bits for you...
