Drago was typically super-quick about it too! Souquet is playing now... I'll update scores at 8pm. [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2007-03-10 19:32 ]

will he get the $1m bonus for 10 racks like strickland did? his opponent must be squirming around in the chair like a greasy snake!

I may need to check about the next two of Alcaide's racks as it was hearsay and looking at the scoresheet it doesn't look possible, but he definitely won the lag for the second set and ran 8 racks and the set.
Jonni was full of praise for his opponent in the brief exchange I had with him.

I've heard of him, he entered the last tournament in Manchester. Won a couple of matches, looked promising.
Not bad for someone who's only played the sport 6 times?!

The match finished and I checked with Jonni and he said Alcaide definitely ran 10 racks back to back with Jonni only coming to the table to lag twice... The scores didn't tally at first as David accidentally wrote the score on the wrong side of the sheet... I've corrected the results to reflect this.

A really popular format with the players although they have a possible 10 races to eight tomorrow as each player will play in the morning's Last 16 session, and the winners will play in the afternoon's Quarter Final session too!!!

whoever wins this event will sleep for a week by the sounds of it. that really is a gruelling format. i have a sneaky suspicion stuart colclough will be there or there abouts alongside daryl peach and majid.

Alciade ran ten racks in the IPT qualifier in Weert last March. He ran the last two in one set and then went on to run 8 in the next.

yeah... David played well in the middle section of the match against me... hats off to him... superb pool... his breaking was perfect, every time he made a ball and there were no clusters on the table and easy run outs... fantastic. I really enjoyed watching him play. I had the best seat in the house too! Was just a bit disappointed after winning the first set I Was feeling good... then had to sit down for 10 racks... LOL such is life...
