Good luck to all the guys playing at the Vic this weekend. I really hope Mark Gray gets a spot, he deserves it after his efforts in the past Qualifier. ----------------- Chris @ Pro9

Well done Jayson Shaw from Scotland who qualified today defeating Rico Diks 10-8 in losers section final. Absolutely brilliant perfomances all weekend from what I'm hearing. The German player Roschkowsky was clapping Jayson while the wee man was dishing up against him and Andy Worthington said it was a pleasure to watch him as he was playing him also. A great result for a 17yr old who only started playing the American game recently. ----------------- [ This message was edited by: devil on 2006-08-26 23:15 ]

Yep for sure Devil.....I spoke to Andy and he said that Jayson played superb all day!!......i (and many others) witnessed what Jayson can do at the recent EPT London Open where he reached the quarters, losing out to eventual runner up Neil Raybone 9-8. He is a real tallent, thats for sure....and a great lad too. -----------------

You ARE the MAN Jayson!!!
This has to be one of the greatest acheivements in recent years for the Scottish game.
Jayson has shown his ability and skill against a formidable field which included pro-pool & snooker players.
To quote The Hustler - "You've got yourself a pool player."
Knock 'em dead in Reno, Jayson!
All you need now is a cool-sounding nickname...

Jayson is a 'SHAW THING' ! I practiced with him on the thursday before the comp, and i was not at my best but it woud'nt of made a difference! cos he just pots everything whenever his hand is on the table, he just does'nt know how to miss. And with his age of only 17 he can only get better!!! I sent some text's out on Friday stating that he would be going to Reno. And i was proved right. Well done Jayson.

Full report to follow very soon, amazing player and a quote to me from Tony Drago he said this kid is special this after they completed three sets to nine in under 1 hour, mind you if Drago was a bit quicker it would have been less time... I believe he can do some damage out in Reno and I cannnot wait to get to Reno and report back to Pro 9, I can confirm in his latter games all the top european players who were there including Roschowsky, Reimring, Schmidt, were all watching and applauding his game well done Jason look forward to more in the US.

Wu Chia-Ching will be playing in Reno after qualifying from the Japan qualifier. This is great news as the worlds best player will be able to compete on the IPT where he belongs. He will definately be one of the favourites for the event.
Congratulations to Jayson for qualifying, he looked like he could pot a ball when I saw him play in Harrow. Would have preffered Andy Worthington or Mark Gray to qualify as I think they both deserve their shot at the big time but im sure their time will come.

I was at victoria and most of the field their this time was tougher than last one as i was watching some of the games the players just did not miss a ball. players were running 5 or 6 racks before the other player chalk up there first rack. Personally you must be gutted Mark and to be honest, I am too, because no-one deserves to go there more than you. Don't know Jayson but sounds like he's a great talent and one to look out for in Reno. Hope you keep at it Mark because you will get there and when you do I'm sure you will be a real threat.
Now...In terms of computers you're doin fine but just have a look for that CAPS lock and turn it off so we don't think you are shoutin!
Congratulations Jayson, and good luck in Reno - we will all be watching out for you.

i just wish i had a chance to even play in the qualifiers because i rate myself as good as some of these players that qualify for these major events but i take nothing away from them they are great players and deserve what they get. [ This message was edited by: paddy147 on 2006-08-29 02:37 ]

Well done Jason, I feel a bit gutted for Rico though after his fine showing in vegas it must be tough for him to be missing out this time. On the subject of a nickname for jason, hows about the pot ness monster the yanks would love that!
