Just to say good luck to Matty Lawrenson, Ross Simpson, Tony Burton and Phil Burford who are going to Kiev later on this week to compete in the european youth championships.

Matt was the only UK straight pool player as they can only play 2 of the 3 individual events. Tony, Ross, Matt and Phil all start the other events tomorrow. The other events are 8/9 ball and Team. Matt is now the European Junior Straight Pool Champion - FANTASTIC NEWS!!!! I understand that Matt won by quite a large margin in the final and played real well. Phil , Ross and Tony are all through to the next round of the 8 ball with solid wins behind them. All play again tomorrow. Just got a call off Phil all having a great time and Matt's win has given them all a boost. ----------------- www.themole.me

Matthew Lawrenson is now in the Last 16 Stage of the 9-Ball event at the 2006 European Youth Championships in Kiev, Ukraine. Tony Burton was eliminated in the final stage of the double elimination rounds, the competition now reverts to straight knockout/single elimination from the Last 16 Stage onwards. Ross won 7-3, 7-5 and is now in the quarters.
