clearly you are not getting my point if you cannot understand why people are saying its to expensive as I see it as a £350-£400 3 day weekend every thing included which is a expensive weekend. the price of a pint is nothing as massive price difference between north and south but a lot of people are talking about the price and clearly only 69 ish players points to that to but if you cannot see how people can say it then this conversation is mute and I will say no more

There's nothing to say that is the reason for low numbers Rick. Players told us it was expensive last year and we took this on board and used the savings from having paid off the tables to reduce the entry fee by over 30% instead of increasing prize money - so now we have made it £200 a year cheaper you are still saying that it is too expensive? Perhaps we need to pay people to play?

"I think the attitude of players needs to change" - good luck with that.

Seriously I think it's the only way to get numbers up. And yes I do think players have a bad attitude in the UK, compare them to the likes of Bruno Muratore, Juan Carlos Exposito and Denis Grabe last event who also have to pay for flights to play GB9, don't hear them complain at having to pay £41 a night for hotel. I think I'm looking forward to getting my life back next year. ----------------- Andy Warden, GB9 - Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor √ [ This message was edited by: cueman on 2014-05-23 15:51 ]

Can't possibly compare professional pool players from countries where their government supports them to amateur players from the UK...

On the uk pool tour - Which try's to attract everyone to the tour, even non pool players - They do 1 event of the year as an open which has all the tour players on and other players who want to try it out and they get value for money e.g they have a seperate event for the non tour players with the prize money they pay up for grabs also a 3 man competiton which involves 1 player in the top 64 from the tour then another player out of the top 64 and finally the non tour player all in one team, they play 3 frames each and best of 9 win's and goes through to the next round etc so all in all you have the tour, challenge 1 & 2 tour open for non tour players and a 3 man team that should spice gb9 up a tad

Played in the event at the weekend (if you can call it playing). Had a brill time. Cheaper to enter this year. Accommodation is a little steep but taking all the facilities into account (free nighttime practice etc) it wasn't that bad. Would recommend it to anyone thinking about entering an event. Hope to see you all at Blackpool. :o) well done to Andy and the team. Great event, great banter, superb tables. Enjoyed the drink (and plenty of it).
