 33 players battling it out for the crown of T9B Rookie Champion 2014.Prize money and sponsorship on offer today. Last years Winner Jaspal Bamotra kicks off his three league matches against Tom Staveley and races in a 4v-1 lead. Great to see Geoff Windeatt back at the table and his tournament opens against Lionel Brown. Geoff has just sunk the 9 to take a 1v0 advantage. Seven matches in play right not and the cub is almost silent. Players are desperate to get there hands on the beautiful T9B glass trophy today. 10.58 - The first result is in and its a very impressive 7v1 victory for Jason Rosser over Mikko Tuomi 11.49 - results flying in and can be viewed here http://challonge.com/T9BTherookieTom Staveley battles back from 4v-1 to win 7v6 against Jaspal Bamotra. Wayne Rooke achieves a great result against a tournament favourite Brian Cassidy 7v4. 11.51 - We have our first whitewash as Veslin defeats Jay Sapra 7v0!! 11.55 - Lionel makes a good start, 7v4 vs Geoff Windeatt Group stages to start with here so a loss isnt great but qualification is still do able So the first round of matches are all in play and its on to round 2 fixtures, These matches are now must wins for the 1 loss players unless they are very lucky. Only room for the top 16 players after 3 matches 12.55 Steve Davison Pumps in the most amazing 8ball up the rail but then misses an easy ish 9ball. 5v5 with Scott Mcmillian 13.44 - Wayne Rooke looks the player to beat at the moment two wins from two matches so far 13.45 - Match of round two - Ashik Nathwani vs Dave Evans and its currenty locked at 5v5 [ This message was edited by: essex_pantha on 2014-10-11 13:46 ]
