So, I see MatchRoom Sports are having a World Cup of Pool this year. Does anyone know anything about it?

All I know is its in the UK.

I'm not sure, but I'm gonna check it out now and see what's what :)

I'll have a look on www.matchroomsport.com and see what they're up to :)

I would like to see a tournament that isn't 9 ball or 8 ball, I would like to see an all-around tournament of Full Rack games like 1 pocket, straight pool, Bank Pool, Rotation or Cribbage :)

Take care everyone :)

Sorry Dazza, I checked out the Matchroom website and there's no info on a World Cup pool event, The only thing that is mentioned is world cup football matches being shown on TV or something in Holland during the World Pool Masters.

If anyone else knows anything more about this, then that'll be great :)

Take care everyone :)

I think I heard somewhere that Paul Medati will be teaming up with Tony Drago and representing Malta!

In which case who would be the Team England pairing? Hundal/Peach? Davis/Peach? Would Majid and O'Sullivan get a look in?

All I know from the World Cup is its in August, it was scheduled for may so lets hope the reason for delay is a good one! Perhaps SKY wanting to show it live! After all it is MatchRoom sports and SKY show ALL MatchRoom sports events...

There will be a name in there I am sure like O'Sullivan or Davis because of the TV and to attract an audience as most fans of snooker do not know the Pool players but if I was to go for my top 4 to be paired it would be Darren Appleton, Imran Majid, Daryl Peach and Raj Hundal, if a snooker player was to be playing I would go for Ronnie.

Ive heard a whisper about this event.
It will be very interesting to see who Matchroom pick for the England team...maybe We should have 2 teams as the host nation then that might make thier job a little easier ;-)

I think while Raj was over in Weert he mentioned something to Ronnie about playing in a doubles tournament, maybe it was this World Cup. I think they are both associated with Matchroom Sport so that would make sense. Personally I think you should definately be in it Daryl, maybe with Ronnie or even Imran.

Hmm, interesting. TBH I would like Peach and Davis to be team England. Peach youre on form mate and Davis is the name that snooker fans and general public would know straight off.

That would be my team anyway...

However If Hundal or Ronnie are in it then great, all class players!

Ahh :), I'm glad that some of you guys know more about this :), thank you guys :)

It would be possible that I wcould represent Malta also, if I chose to represent Malta in any international tournaments as my great gran was born and from there :)

anyways, I think that the 2 top UK players should be Dazzler and Hitman, they're both top notch players and have both shown that they have the ability, but the only Q that does need to be answered, could they play as a team?... undoubtedly either of these 2 player has got to be picked at least :)

Take care everyone :)

Willie
