Karl defo won't be letting Hatch call the shots. Race to 150 is more suited to Hatch IMO. Race to 50 would be better.

I spoke to Dennis Hatch throughout the Mosconi Cup. And I will back his corner a little when I say he is an absolute gentleman and a fantastic player, he even gave me tips and advice about what shot he would play, and I was right next to him when he said to Karl 'WEAK LINK' and said to me later it was only friendly banter. (I was wearing my sponsored Demon shirt)
Now back to this 'call out' match I do agree with ‘unique’ as he is throwing his teddy out and Karl does not have to take up the offer, as he now has nothing in the world to prove. However, if you wants to take up the challenge, then just let him.
Sure, I am team Europe all the way but if the match was to happen in Vages or anywhere else in the world, I will be on the fence on this one.

I hope Boyes takes this on. Would be nice to see how he holds up in a big race like that. I think race to 100 in 10-ball would suit better for him, but pretty sure he does know best.
Anyways hopefully it will have a livestream going on

Personally I don't see any reason why it shouldn't happen in Vegas in May next to a big tournament, if he's going there anyways. Hatch lives in NY so he needs to travel over 5 hours as well.
But I can understand some frustration that all the big games are played in US. It would be nice to have some big games in europe as well. Though there was the match between SVB and Jungo in Switzerland not so long ago.
It's just that the money is in US, not yet here. Europe needs to organize one or two larger and profitable events that attracts players and publicity from all over the world. Eurotour is not enough. One Derby city classic -type event and one big money tournament usopen -style. Organized of course at a time when players are free, which I know is getting harder and harder.
But before that, it's hard to expect people to invest in Europe when they have guaranteed money (as PPV) in USA.

Would Matchroom be interested? After all, the rivalry was conceived at one of their events. They have tv deals with many sports already with Sky and would be far more intersting than a repeat of Transworld Sport, King of the Snow or Sports unlimited (all showing/shown this afternoon on Sky Sports 3 or 4).

Karl may not even be going to Vegas as his little 1 is due around that time.
I'd like to see Karl take the match as I feel he more in th tank than hatch, but there is no need to prove himself to any1

I'm not familiar with the UK pool scene. Would it be difficult for Karl to get staked in the match Dennis is proposing? I'm sure Hatch could get staked here. Chris (by the way, watched your matches at the US Open - some of the best pool and smartest safety play I've ever seen - congrats!) [ This message was edited by: TATE on 2011-01-05 03:06 ]
