TOUR EVENT 2 - REARDON'S SOUTHSIDE

Polish visitor Piotr Ostrowski won the second stop on the SAPPA Black Bottle Scottish 9-Ball Tour at Reardon's Southside in Glasgow with a comprehensive 10-6 victory over Larkhall-based Scott Gillespie. Ostrowski, who previous played on the SAPPA Tour when he lived in Scotland a couple of years ago, went through the whole weekend undefeated taking some impressive scalps on his way to the title.

"Read More..." for the details.

Even with some last-minute withdrawals from the tournament, a total of 54 players arrived at Reardon's Southside over the weekend to play. With the top 16 ranked players seeded straight through to the Sunday, 38 players were there on Saturday to fight for the 16 spots available the following day. As always, there were a few surprise results, one of the main ones being Event 1 Runner Up Scott Ross's back-to-back losses to be eliminated from the event very quickly.

Another excellent match was the one between Stevie Capaldi and Clark Smith with Capaldi, formerly ranked number 3 in Scotland, managing to get past the ever-steady Smith by 10 racks to 6.
