Diaz, Ouschan and Tahti grab the last titles in this year’s EC
The 9-ball titles at the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair Athletes have been taken by Francisco Diaz (ESP) in the men’s division, Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) in the women’s division and Jouni Tahti (FIN) in the wheelchair division.
In the men’s division, Francisco Diaz had to battle it out with Karol Skowerski (POL). The match was quite even from the start. Both players have played an excellent tournament so far. Consequently, the quality level was pretty high. During the course of the match, Diaz showed to have the balls rolling in favor of him. 9:5 was the final result in favor of Diaz. „I really enjoy this title very much“, stated Diaz after the final, „I love 9-ball and 10-ball and it was a very hard way to achieve this title.“

Practice makes perfect as Seville cruises at Total9ball
Total9ball was back this weekend with the final edition of the Euro Tour qualifier series sponsored by Dynamic Billard. The winning player would take the top prize of sponsored entry to a Euro tour event of their choice (remaining events are Austria and Holland), £250 towards flight and accommodation costs, £150 in cash prize money on the day, position 6 of 16 in the T9B end of season Champion Of Champions event (Currently over £800 prize pool with money added at each of the remaining events this season) and a beautiful glass tankard trophy.
The event kicked off at 10.30am with each player being tested as they competed in three action packed league stage matches with the hope that after the results were plotted in the league table that they would be one of the 16 qualifiers. A field of 25 players took part with all trying to be the player who lifted the trophy in the winner's photo at the end of the event.

Andreas Björndal wins Interpool Open 2015
The 11th annual Interpool Open in Gävle, Sweden was traditionally played over the easter weekend (April 2-5) and this years tournament hosted a star-studded field of some 171 players from 13 different countries, ranging from 14 to 84 years of age.
Some of the international players that spent their easter in Gävle was Mika Immonen, Shane Van Boening (who unfortunately had to withdraw due to a neck problem), Ruslan Chinakov, Niels Feijen and Ewa Mataya Laurence.
The main handicap tournament (race to 11 with players starting from 0-8 depending on skill level) was won by Andreas Björndal (hcp 4), actually the first player to ever win the tournament having a starting handicap higher than 0. An impressive run consisting of a semi final win against Andreas Gerwén (11-7) and a final victory against the organizer and home town hero Marcus Chamat (11-6).

Kazakis, Khodjaeva and Tahti grab the 10-ball titles
The newly crowned Dynamic Billard European Champions in 10-ball are Alexander Kazakis (GRE), Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL) and Jouni Tahti (FIN).
Men’s division
The story of the final match is quickly told. It was a close combat between Francisco Diaz (ESP) and Kazakis. They were taking racks in turn. At 6:5 to Kazakis, Diaz played a bad safety shot and left a possible shot for Kazakis. The Greek went for it, made it and went on the hill 7:5. There again, a safety battle occurred. Diaz played an unforced error on the 3-ball and gave ball in hand to Kazakis. That was enough for Kazakis to win his first title with 8:5 at European Championship level.

Marcus Chamat named as Euro captain
SWEDEN’S MARCUS CHAMAT, a six-time Mosconi Cup veteran, will take the helm for Team Europe when the 2015 event takes place at the Tropicana in Las Vegas in December. The 39 year-old Swede was the life and soul of the team when Europe won for only the second time in 2002 and has an overall record of 11 victories from 26 Mosconi Cup matches played .
Chamat, who carries the nickname ‘Napoleon’, takes over the job from Johan Ruijsink who retired from the position undefeated through seven Mosconi Cups.
“It will be tough to follow in the footsteps of Johan and all that he did with the European team, but to be the captain of the best team in the world is really a great opportunity for anyone,” said Chamat.

Southern wins the first event of the 2015 BWPPA season
The BWPPA began the 2015 season on the 21st/22nd March 2015 with the GNO Southern 9-ball Open held at the newly opened BWPPA/BWCSA Wheelchair Cue Sport Academy at Stoke Mandeville, this event is named after the main tour sponsor the Gentleman’s Night Out charity.
We had a solid turn out, including Aleksandr Prokopiev who again made the long trip from Russia. We welcomed a new player to the tour, Mall Johnson.
The tour got off to a great start with some excellent pool on show as usual at these events. Fred Dinsmore was keen to add to his 3 successive victories at the end of the 2014 season, which enabled him to take a clear lead at the top of the rankings.
In the players meeting before play commenced Dinsmore and Daniel Lee were jointly awarded the honour of being the 2014 players player of the season. Also at the meeting, each player was presented with a gift pack from our generous sponsors at Kamui, comprising of 4 tips, 2 chalks and chalk holders, many many thanks to all at Kamui. We were also proud to inform the players of our newly acquired sponsor Aramith Balls. They have very kindly donated 8 sets of Pro TV balls to the tour. With the tables all covered in Simonis Cloths and a brand new set of balls on each table we really did offer professional playing conditions this weekend.

Betfred World Championship Qualifiers Draw
The draw for the qualifying rounds of the Betfred World Snooker Championship has been made, with all players seeded outside the top 16 set to battle for places at the Crucible.
The qualifiers start this Wednesday ( April 8 ) at Pond's Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.
In a change to the usual format, the concluding session of all 16 final round matches will be played on the last day, Wednesday April 15. The 16 winners on 'Judgement Day' will earn a coveted spot in the final stages, to run from April 18 to May 4 at the Crucible Theatre.
All 128 players in action at Pond's Forge must win three best-of-19 frame matches to progress.
Ten-time World Ladies champion Reanne Evans, aiming to become the first woman to play at the Crucible, has been drawn against 1997 World Champion Ken Doherty on Thursday April 9.
Six-time World Champion Steve Davis is up against Jamie Cope on Friday.
