This book, suitable for absolute beginners and the very advanced and proficient player alike, honestly, it's all explained in a friendly fashion, that keeps you paying attention without suffering from information overload... Phil Capelle has published, republished and edited his books until he has a comprehensive coverage of the games and needs of players. Thus Capelle rewrote and edited "Play Your Best Pool" with a more specific focus on the requisites of 9-Ball to create "Play Your Best 9-Ball" and in a similar fashion adding much more strategy analysis for the "Play Your Best 8-Ball" book.

In fact ALL Capelle books should be seized upon with gusto, perhaps with the exception of his "Phil Capelle's - The Mental Game" which in my modest opinion, didn't reach the high standards of the rest of his work.

Excellent diagrams of table lay-outs, clear and concise descriptions of strategies and techniques, and a thorough covering of every aspect of the big ball game make this a "must-have" for anyone wanting to improve their game to the next level.
