Mc Loughlin And Mc Donald Crowned All Ireland 9Ball Doubles Champions
Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour number one ranked player Paddy Mc Loughlin and 16 year old top junior 9-ball player Mark Mc Donald from Belfast defeated Co. Meath’s top pairing of Paul Tierney and Joe Mc Keever in the final to the claim the 2008 All Ireland Open Scotch Doubles 9-Ball Championship at the weekend in TJ’s American Pool Club Newry.

2008 All Ireland Open 9Ball Doubles Champions Paddy Mc Loughlin & Mark McDonald,

Paddy has won more or less every other title on the Irish 9ball tour and now has added his name along with Mark to this prestigious team event which eluded him over the years with the tournament always attracting top players from all over Ireland.
On route to victory both Paddy & Mark defeated Raymond & Dermott Field, Manny & Tristane Byrne, Declan Hughes & Chris Davison before winning the challenge from Tierney & McKever in the final with a 10-8 score-line.
Paul and Joe played outstanding pool throughout the tournament and also in the final as well leading the match on two occasions but failed to get to the winning line only losing on a 11-9 score-line.
Congratulations to both Paddy and Mark on their victory which will put both players in good form when they travel to England in a few weeks time with Paddy playing on the Great Britain Pro-Tour and Mark competing on the Challenge Tour against some of the country's top 9ball players including the current World 9ball champion Daryl Peach.
