9 ball double elimination results

As we enter into pool season, this tournament was to iron out the wrinkles and brush off the cobwebs. With a good strong field competing for the cash prizes, this had all the hallmarks of an upset, but the players didn't need much encouragement.

Paul Canavan, Stephen Johnston, Gary Millen, Mark McDonald and Kevin McKee showing their experience in the first round with convincing wins over solid opponents.

Click on "Read More..." for the details.

Gary Millen and Mark McDonald produced top drawer pool to brush aside any would be challenger's with Mark the bear taking on and disposing of Sam Gibson twice to reach the finals with Gary Millen.

It looked like the bear would produce the upset but Gary was in the zone and rarely missed anything, with offensive play and tight safety Gary took the game to bear and stormed out to a 9-4 victory.

THE FINALS

Winner Gary Millen

Gary Millen 9 bt 4 Mark 'the bear ' McDonald

3rd place Sam Gibson

4th place Stephen Johnston

Sunday Amateur 9 Ball Event

THE FINALS

Winner Kevin Mckee

2nd place Sean Judge

Finals Kevin McKee 7 bt 6 Sean Judge

Kevin and Sean quickly moved through the field to the finals, practise is paying off for these two players as Kevin has now been to the Vegas finals and EPT Qualifier's throughout the UK, Sean was due to reach a final due to the amount of pool that he is now playing at Club 9 with tips from Sam Gibson, Sean has definitely moved up a notch and is growing in confidence, competing in Saturday's open event has given Sean vital experience for the amateur event. It was neck and neck throughout this final and it was to hard to call for the punter's and railbirds, in a game of cat and mouse this shootout swayed to and fro but in the end Kevin's experience in safety proved vital in him crossing the winner's line, but it was close and I'm sure Sean will be on the practise table asap to get ready for the next event at Club 9.

Club 9 would like to thank all those who turned out for the 9 ball weekend events and wishes the Players who qualified from Club 9, who are going to the EPT event next weekend in Birmingham all the best.

Well done guys
