There's more to this year's premier Spanish event than the 30,000 Euro prize fund!
Once again, this popular event is in Galicia, the area in North Western Spain, but this time nearer the Portuguese border in the large Port City of Vigo.
Vigo is all about the sea, with the fishing port and sailing marina dominating the entire city experience, and all the benefits that brings, and sampling the fresh seafood should be high on every visitor's "to do" list!
That, and playing in the Vigo International 9 Ball Tournament, of course!
Apparently this year the venue for this competition is even better than the one last year in Lugo (won by Daryl Peach in 2009). Then add to that one of the best organised pool tournaments in the world and you've got a winning combination that even the most battle hardened pool player will absolutely love!

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Maximum 192 players.
1st phase: 8 Groups of 24 playing double elimination.
Top 4 qualifying for final phase.
2nd phase: Single elimination of 32 players.
Races to 9 until final which will be a race to 11.
Alternate breaks.
Entry fee 100 Euros.

TRAVEL
Players should book flights to Vigo airport if possible, there are connections with Madrid, Barcelona and Paris.
Santiago de Compostela is an alternative airport which can be used.
There are connections from most Spanish airports plus Rome, Paris and Hahn-Frankfurt.
There are no special arrangements with hotels in Vigo so players should make their own reservations.
