I always love a 147, nice one.

The BBC put the two 140 breaks up so I imagine they'll post this up soon on the BBC Sports site.

£147,000 for the maximum and £10,000 for the highest break... No wonder he grinned.... Awesome final pink to get on the black.

Is it just me or are the bottom pockets this year a couple of mil wider that normal?
I've seen a lot of shots rattle and drop where they should normally hang.

Still, great break from the greatest player ever.
I hope he puts the icing on the cake and gets that 8th title....he certainly has the bottle for it.

What about that first session with Higgins & Selby?
4 centuries which should have been 5, had Selby concentrated on the green...great stuff to watch.

Higgins did really well to come out of that at 4-4, he's still my tip for the title!

Class from Hendry though, just off to watch it on youtube - hope its on now.

Can't access the bbc site, but I get live stream through live footy so happy now =)

Hendrys had a great tournament with difficult matches. Besting M Williams and then Ding were great results for a player who before the Worlds had slipped to around 12th provisionally. and he came up against Murphy who was playing well. Fantastic 147 proving he's still a force. I thought he may go on to win the event, but alas not to be.

I'll be honest and say as a Davis fan i never liked Hendry much but he is a class act.

I don't like Murphy either (cos he knocked Davis out of event on his way to winning it).

I'm routing for Selby or Robertson now.

Anyone see the dodgy bit of reffing in the Dott Selby match?

Basically, Dott played a safety and the white was going in the pocket so Dott put his hand in the pocket to stop it (presumably so the ref didn't have to pick it up).

Foul (obviously).

Selby then picked the white up to put it in the D.

Foul!

The ref said the white hadn't left the bed of the table so he shouldn't have touched it. This begs some questions:

1) Why didn't the ref pick the white up and put it in the D or on the cushion for Selby to move?

2) Does that mean that if you're white is about to go in the pocket, you can stop the white with your hand and not be penalised? Perhaps if all the remaining reds are in baulk and the white is going in the pockets near the black spot.

1) The referee could not pick up the white either as the white had not left the table and so it had to be played from where it had stopped.

2) If your were to stop the ball then the penalty points would go against you, and your opponent could make you play again from where it finished or i presume the referee could wand the player regarding there conduct if obviously intentional and apply penalties including loss of frame match as appropriate

SECTION 4. THE PLAYERS

1. Conduct
In the event of:

(a) a Player taking an abnormal amount of time over a stroke or the selection of a stroke; or
(b) any conduct by a Player which in the opinion
of the referee is wilfully or persistently unfair; or
(c) any other conduct by a Player which otherwise
amounts to ungentlemanly conduct; or
(d) refusing to continue a frame;
the referee shall either:
(e) warn the Player that in the event of any such further
conduct the frame will be awarded to his opponent; or
(f) award the frame to his opponent; or
(g) in the event that the conduct is sufficiently serious
award the game to his opponent

If a referee has warned the Player under (e) above, in the event of any further conduct as referred to above, the referee must either:
(a) award the frame to his opponent; or
(b) in the event that the further conduct is sufficiently serious, award the game to his opponent.

If a referee has awarded a frame to a Player’s opponent pursuant to the above provisions, in the event of any further conduct as referred to above by the Player concerned, the referee must award the game to the Player’s opponent.
Any decision by a referee to award a frame and/or the game to a Player’s opponent shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal.

2. Penalty
(a) If a frame is forfeited under this Section, the offender shall:
(i) lose the frame; and
(ii) forfeit all points scored and the non-offender shall receive a number of points equivalent to the value of the balls remaining on the table, with each Red counting as eight points and any colour incorrectly off the table being counted as if spotted.
(b) If a game is forfeited under this Section, the offender shall
(i) lose the frame in progress as in (a); and
(ii) additionally lose the required number of unplayed frames to complete the game where frames are relevant; or
(iii) additionally lose the remaining frames, each valued at 147 points, where aggregate points apply
