Yes, too cool......and getting 10% off what is already the cheapest refinish or re-wrap anywhere in the universe to start with is just plain madness!!

I can't stress how good Cuegrips work is. Send your cue in total confidence.

I've always wanted a cue with a snakeskin wrap, but is this just for super-rich cue collectors or can anyone afford it?

Prices are on the web site, look here and select the type you want.

e.g. Rattlesnake is $100 (and don't forget your 10% Pro9 discount).

just a quick question. Probably a stupid one.. but do things like crocodile/lizard/snakeskin cue grips not get any problems coming through customs?

Do you think that Ken will give a retrospective discount?

This is a job he did for me a year ago, I am more than pleased, and thoroughly recommend his work.

I think not Peter :-D

Danny....it is a very valid question.....

There are many rules covering the import of exotic items to the UK. They are based around many different types of criteria also. Such as animal type, country of origin, method of catching (ie: was the animal farmed or was it caught wild), personal use and quantity. Some countries have less than adequate methods for capture and slaughter hence the rules are different depending on where the animal came from.

None of this applies to the leather goods and leather embossed goods (and linen obviously, lol!) but can do for the more exotic animals.

What I would say is I have received countless cues from the U.S. and other parts of the world with a wide range of wraps (anyone that knows me or has seen the contents of my cue case can vouch for this) and I have NEVER once had a problem. Doesn't mean its right but I am saying that there has never been a problem. It is very rare for customs to open a package that is marked 'billiard cue' or billiard cue repair'. The package is sent for x-ray (as all packages are) and then on to the customer. As the cue is on its own and addressed to a house, customs can quite clearly see its for personal use and not part of a business package (not hundreds of cues). They would then need to open the package and then prove what animal it was. Then find the source, the method of capture and the method of slaughter. They have much more pressing things to deal with as you can imagine. I am not trying to qualify anything here, just present the facts. If anyone has any concerns, there are websites that list animals that cannot be imported in any fashion regardless of what I have said above. I don't believe any of these feature on Cuegrip's inventory.

As stated, I have never had a problem. Its your choice at the end of the day. If the snakeskins bother you, the leather and leather embossed wraps may be more your thing or perhaps a new linen wrap. Some of the snakekins feel great in the hand though!!

I hope my snakeskin gets through.......

I know you say about the feel Si but i've gone for a smooth feel ie several clear coats....its more the look i was after.........oh yes and a smooth feel so i dont rip my hand using the break rak with a lizard wrap again LOL

Thanks for answering that! And yeh I guess customs do have bigger fish to fry!

I personally don't have a problem with it! Was just curious!

Might be sending some of my thunderbolts off for some custom wraps! I guess some people will think a trashy cue like that isn't worth it.. But it's the cue I'll probably be using for the rest of my life.

I've owned pretty much every popular production cue in the past (predator, buffalo, viking, meucci etc) and the £100 cue is the one i bonded with most. With the addition of the £145 shafts and £30 tips.

Maybe when I'm a little older I'll get into custom cues!

I think its a great idea, Danny. If its the cue for you, then why not? It puts your own personal mark on the cue.

To answer the cost of shipping question.....

I have 3 methods of shipping to the U.S. The prices I quote are based on one butt, one shaft in a lightweight, sturdy tube. The prices go up or down depending on WEIGHT. Also, the first option has a maximum weight limit of 1kg. Insurance adds a little bit to the first 2 options and a lot to the last one.

International Signed for (Post Office): 7-10 working days: £10 - £15.

Airsure (Post Office): 5-7 working days: £15 - £35.

Fedex or similar: 2-3 working days: £50-£200.

Things to note.....first 2 options have a maximum insurance capacity of £500 to the U.S. hence I have to use something like Fedex for the really expensive stuff. I think Airsure is the best normal service. Parcel Force also have an international service which is about the same price as Airsure.

Ken ships back using USPS (American Postal Service) and costs about $35 - $60 depending on weight.

Hope this helps.

One last thing......if anyone needs lightweight, sturdy shipping tubes, just PM me or post up here. I am going to Stafford for the next BPPPA event. I must have 100 spare ones in my loft.

I'm glad you like the python it is one of the most popular wraps we do. i try to make them different from one another so two cues don't look the same.

To answer the cost of shipping question.....

Simon your right on top of things as usual!

I apologize for the late start answering questions but a long day today and I just sat down at the computer. It is probably very late on your side of the pond. Greg and I will be on line to answer questions as much as possible which for me is about 8:00 AM EST.

I just want to let you guy's know that when I figure your 10% it is coming off the total price. I charge a shipping and handling charge of $50.00 and if the wrap is to be a python which is $125.00 the total is $175.00 less your discount which I will do for $155.00 which is just a bit more than 10% but who is really keeping track!

I will also do cues in pairs if two guy's would ship together it cost about the same as shipping one cue from here to ship two, so you would save some money on the shipping.

When you remove the original wrap from a clear-coated (laquered) wrap like the Meucci below, how do you get the new laquer to match the old laquer smoothly, or do you recoat the entire butt, or do you start off with a new unlaquered cue from Meucci?

!!! CODE !!!

Big Dave, I usually have to coat the entire cue it is on a cue by cue basis. if the cue is showing wear and tear it doesn't look good to have a beautiful wrap put on and the cue looks out of place, kind of like someone spot finishing your car on the middle of the door!
