Arena Billiards will be hosting its first 9 Ball tournament on Saturday 13th February. Doors open at 10.00am with play starting at 10.30am. It will be £25 entry fee to be paid in advance by Tuesday 9th February at the latest. Limited to 32 entries maximum. Keith will be running the tournament and his nickname is thief here on pro9 and his contact details are further down this post.

There will also be £150 added to the main prize fund by the club as well as £50 for a 1 rack shoot out plate comp for those who get knocked out before the quarter finals.

The format for the day will be double elimination up to the quarter final stage with a full field of 32 (four from the winners side and four from the losers side). If we have less numbers than this, then this will be amended to the double elimination to the semi finals or just double elimination all the way depending on the final number of entrants but you will be kept updated.

It will be a race to 9 on winners side and a race to 7 on the losers side and there will be no handicaps. It will be winner breaks through out. It will be also a race to 9 in the knockout stages and 9 or 11 in the final depending on time.

The plate comp is one rack shoot KO format and will be for all those knocked out before quarter finals/money stage. The rules for this will be players will be drawn against each other in each round and whoever wins the 1 rack goes through to next round. If a player breaks and runs then though the opponent will be given the opportunity to come back and do the same but if they fail to do so they lose. No golden breaks for the 1 rack shoot out, if this happens the 9 is re-spotted and player who potted will continue their visit.

The venue is Arena Billiards,

53 Swan Street,
Loughborough,
LE11 5BL

Prize money based on full field of 32 paid entrants plus £150 added by the club for the Tournament is as follows.

Winner - £320
Runner up - £170
Semi Finalist - £100
Quarter Finalist - £65

Plate Comp.

1 rack shoot out Final winner £50

If you would like to enter then please leave your name here or contact Keith to have your name put on the entry list. You can contact him via email on keithw79@live.co.uk (make sure you put Arena Billiards in the subject bar) or via phone on 07917607276 (don't forget to confirm your full name if texting).

To be confirmed for the tournament your entry fee will need to be paid in full by 9th February and you can pay in the following ways. Direct to Keith or via PayPal using the above email address. For those local to the club you can pop it an envelope with you name on and saying it's for Keith and hand it in at the bar.

Due to a few last minutue drop outs we now have four spaces remaining on a first come and paid basis. Contact me (Keith) if you wish to enter and to sort payment.

All the tables for the tournament have Artimis K66 cushions and all have Simonis 860 cloth. The match table will also have Aramith Duramith Tournament set.

Also lets not forget the £150 add to the main prize fund and £50 added for the one rack shoot for all those knocked out before the money stages. So lets get these spots filled.

Hi, sorry to trouble you. Got a team of seasoned 8 ball players now learning 9 ball. Could you let us know about the next tournament so we could come and watch or enter. Many thanks, Charlie.
