There are still 2 Brits left in this year's World Tournament. Darren Appleton has just started his last 16 match against Shawn Wilkie while Jayson Shaw has just beaten Charlie Williams to advance into the Quarter Finals. Jayson will play the winner of the match currently (still! it's been going over 3 hours!!!) on the stream between Thorsten Hohmann and Max Eberle.

And they're in separate halves of the draw - an all British final? :-D

Best wishes

Been watching quite a bit on the live stream, good viewing. Funking for Daz and Jay obv! Quality field, gonna take some winning.
Shame there are no 14.1 tourneys about for the enthusiast, wonder if T9B could do one?

I'm sure T9B would run one is there was enough interest, however i doubt there would be.
Also some of these matches can last hours so not sure as a 2 day event would be better?

Tried to run a multi-discipline event before and have looked to do 14.1 purely on its own. Got a grand total of 3 entries. Different excuses ranging from tables have to be immaculate to not liking game to too far to travel.

Too many variables and not enough people to entertain running such an event.

Such a pity because 14.1 and One Pocket (and bonus ball!!!) both can help rotational play so so much.

I play ok, but not seen much or played too much pool as I've only recently got into it. Having seen quite a bit of this tourney, I think it is quite good to watch compared to the rotational codes, the bore factor is much lower and is much more enjoyable to guess and ghost the route to the break ball.
My next couple of practices will be 14.1, gotta be good for your game! I can't be the only one thinking this would be more enjoyable on a competitive level, nullifying the break factor, emphasising cue ball control acutely and making your opponent stew in his seat for what can seem an eternity, meaning the mental side is a big thing as well. Right up my alley!
I think a good amateur standard would make it even better to play as players would not score as prolifically, say 15-40 runs, lower th

Lower the races to say 75, edgier for both players and spectators. I think it would be difficult to handicap but think there is more chance of a -1 beating a -3 at this game off scratch then at 9 or 10 ball.

I dont think you could use the skill levels from rotation games and translate them to 14.1 necessarily. Different game and different skill sets. Maybe if there was a blatant difference you could give a small start but harder to work out accurately at the start.

Why dont you put your energy and passion into running a tournament mate? Run the format you think could work and see what people think? You dont have to be an old hand to run an organised comp if you know what you want, I did it after playing for only 7 months and got 40 players at a 9ball event! ;)

I like to play in a tourney from time to time, would like to play more, lack of free time prevents it though. So organising one pretty much impossible.

Over 1,600 viewers just saw Daz beat his own 2013 tournament high run - so far he's run 153 in this race to 200 and he's still going!!!

You are missing a treat if you are not watching this!
