The top 8 ball players don't even play in these world champs anyway Mark coz of English 8 ball politics so the winner isn't really recognised as the world champion imo. It's like winning the world snooker champs when Ronnie, Robertson, Ding, Selby etc have sat them out. The qualifier is on my doorstep but I refuse to play in something that I don't believe is for the good of the game. There should be one world champs but nowadays you don't even know what the real world champs are at this game. ----------------- Regards

Yes the small ball game's politics are a joke, But a large majority of the players don't care about the politics and just want to play pool, and at £20 entry with £6000 to going the eventual winner it represents decent value whatever the prestige of the event. Plus the fact a lot of the top players are missing actually encourages more entries. The event is amateur only, no cue-sport professionals allowed, this is the EPA rules and is probably why Mark has been refused. [ This message was edited by: pilky on 2013-05-15 08:56 ]

From what I've seen playing at any point on GB9 pro tour counts but seems very harsh
