Happy Easter All, Pockets Snooker and Pool Club has been holding regular 9 Ball Comps for a few years now. Most of these have been evening comps, last Saturday of every month. As well as the knockout comps we have also held a 9 ball singles league, and our first year we had eight players, all of a good standard. In the second year we had two divisions, first was of eight and the second had ten players. This ran for two seasons, and greatly improved the profile of 9 ball in the area. This year we have tried to do something a little bigger but still trying to keep the local interest. In January this year we held the first ever all day comp (The Gravesham 9 Ball Open) which was max 16 players, double elimination. The top 6 were paid out, and the comp recieved a lot of interest and good feedback. If you're wondering why u haven't heard of this before its that we have deliberately tried to keep it low key and try and keep it regional. It is by no means a tour / series to rival T9B or any other with similar ambition. It only advertises and accepts entry via Facebook and text. The lastest Comp has been advertised as a Facebook event for a bit and there's a few places left. See the link below - http://www.facebook.com/events/417494171667460/?ref=2There's also a Facebook page for Pockets 9 Ball Leagues and Comps - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pockets-9-Ball-Singles-League-and-9-Ball-Comps/166983986681231As u know all 9 Ball Comps have to start locally, and they establish their own following and interest, Pockets Comps are no different. They will always be 16 player comps as there's only the four Brunswicks. So its main goal is to develop the comp to attract the best local talent it can. Check us out and even if u can't make the next Comp this coming Sunday in April, help support local comps and someday there will be a national infrustructure.
