EVENT IS CANCELLED

Just been told the sad news that my pool club, Riley's Wavertree has closed today.

Thanks to Mandy the manager for all her help and to previous manager John Beckinsale and others

That's a shock, real shame it's a really good club and seemed to be getting more business than it had for years. Is your stuff out of there mate, my set of balls are there as well.

Hopefully Rileys Liverpool Grand Central can get some events going. Even if we had a weekly flyer that would be pretty cool. Maybe £10 entry with handicapped races and one big £20 competition a month!

Just been into the Wavertree club to pick up my stuff, shocking to see it all being dismantled, my match table was gone, everything will be gone by Friday
.
Mandy the manager was almost in tears, she gave me a big hug saying thanks for trying to keep the club going with comps etc.

The manager of Liverpool central was there, and I am going down to meet him on Monday, to discuss holding events there, so hopefully this and other comps will be back on in May.

:(

I don't suppose you know where the match tables are headed? It'd be nice if they were to go to the city centre...

:)

I suppose this is a sign of the times as lots of businesses are struggling.

:(

I have ideas for what could be done in Liverpool Grand Central but obviously you'd need as much information as possible from the manager to check their feasibility. A £5 a man weekly competition, say first to 7 single elimination with free play tables may draw a lot of locals. Perhaps it could be rotated between 8 and 9-Ball...

They won't be going there Phil
As they would have to swap others out and that'll cost

I want to meet manager first before getting others involved

Defo no. April event

Ah right. Will they appear on Ebay do you think? I might buy them as an "investment" if the price is right...

LOL!
