Total9Ball

Since the fantastic T9B Amateur 2x Series Grand Finals event held on Saturday 1 Dec at St Albans Hurricane Room, Total9ball Founder Phillip Wildman and Art Worker Mark Parker have been working very hard behind the scenes and we are now proud to announce the T9B Amateur 2x Series 2013.

T9B is now promoting its 4th season of the Amateur Series and it seems to be getting more and more popular with each series, After the success of the 2012 season we at T9B felt it was important to create a bigger and better series for 2013.

Last season we used the 2x format for the first time as a series and it worked very well with players gaining the maximum value money and getting the opportunity to play 9ball using one of the most fresh and exciting formats to ever hit UK 9Ball.

For anyone new to the T9B 2x format here is some info.

T9B double chance events seem to be the most popular format we use, we believe the reason behind this is because it offers unbeatable value, players are entered into the draw twice which means players can lose a match but still be the overall winner of the tournament, it guarantees each player a minimum of two tense knock-out matches and also means each entrance has the opportunity to get in the prize money twice. Feedback regarding these event has always been brilliant and therefore we feel using this format is the way to get the most players involved. Win all matches and you can collect the Winners and Runners up prize money... a very nice days work. A beautiful glass trophy is awarded to the winner of each event and also to the overall winner of the rankings after the five event series.

***NEW FEATURES***

***All event this season will be 9ball
***Increased money added to the Grand Finals
***A small payout to the player who gets furthest both sides of the draw
***Pot collected to be paid the first undefeated player
***Increased and fairer handicap system
***A Break Dish Roll up to be held at each event

The Series will begin on 9th February 2013 and will consist of five 9ball double chance events and a Grand Final. Each event will be held at St Albans Hurricane Room with matches beginning at 09.30am shape. Players must understand that while they are in the tournament twice still there may not be much of a break in between games.

Event 1 – 23rd March

Races- Matches will be races to 7 plus handicap in all matches unless there is more than 40 players in the comp. races will be shortened for level handicap matches.

Membership - £20 until 31st December. £25 after this date

                    Members     Non members             Handicap
Entry Fees -    £42                 £47                 -4, -3 and -2 players
                     £37                 £42                     -1, 0 players
                     £32                 £37                     +1, +2 players

Above are pay in advance discount entry fee prices, any player who pays cash on the day will be charged an extra £5 no exceptions.

***HANDICAPS***
Platinum Players -4 and -3
Gold Players -2
Silver Players -1
Bronze - 0, +1, +2

A player who reaches the Final of any event will have there handicap cut to one lower so -3 to -4 for example this will only change back if that player goes two events in a row without reaching the prize money.

***Ranking Points***

1 point per match won and 5 points for attendance (players tied on points at the end of the season will be separated by:-

1) The player who has attended the most events
2) Highest scoring event
3) Latest event points

Grand Final Qualifying CRITERIA (PLEASE READ)

Total Grand Final Spaces 24

***Top 8 players on the ranking list who have attended 3 or more events QUALIFY and are SEEDED into the LAST 16 of the event***
***Next 8 Players on the ranking list who have attended 3 or more events qualify for the PRELIM ROUND... the LAST 24 of the Grand Final***
***all other players who have attended 3 or more events are offered entry into the Qualifying event for the FINAL 8 SPACES, this event will be held the WEEKEND Before or there will be a silent auction for the 8 spaces. (if spaces remain at the qualifying day... places will be offered to players who have attended 2 or more event)

Grand Final players entry -
                Members     Non members             Handicap
Entry Fees -    £42                 £47                    -4, -3 and -2 players
                     £37                 £42                     -1, 0 players
                     £32                 £37                     +1,

Qualifying Event - £25 (successful qualifiers will get the £25 already paid off the above relevant entry fee)

Prize money will begin at the Quarter Final stage and will be announced once entry numbers are known.

This comp has truly unbeatable value.

Remember... IF YOU ENTER TWICE YOU CAN GET INTO THE PRIZE MONEY TWICE!!

All Matches will be Straight Knock-out

Races to - 7 plus Handicaps (depending on entry maybe to 6)
Breaking - Alternate, 3 point Rule, Golden Breaks allowed

We advise you don’t delay your entry as previous events have filled in under 6 hours!!!!! Event 1 has 50 entries and there are more that want in but are having to be turned away as its just not possible to take any more entries but what a lovely position to be in TO MANY PLAYERS.

***********************************************************
PLEASE READ NEW ENTRY SYSTEM
***********************************************************
The way this event will work from now is players will be added to the list in order but when somebody pays they are put to the top of the list therefore on a full field the bottom unpaid player drops of the list. This way we can make sure we get the most players at the event as they are already paid. Currently we are limiting this event to max 40 players. Depending on what time the event finishes with 50 players we may add more places.

Im now using a Kamui Tip for the first time and I have onlty had one quick practice with it but already i can see its going to improve my game as it seems very consistant. So with this tip i believe im now favourite to win this event as i have the edge on any player not using a Kamui tip. So why not equalise this by buying a Kamui tip at the next T9B event??? I have the whole range, in original and black and im selling these for £16 each but if you purchase one il give you £5 off your next Total9ball event entry fee. What a deal hey. Dont let me have the edge fight back by buying a Kamui tip

I've had a try with the Kamui Black and I do like it. Until 3 months ago I was using a Black Heart soft which lasted me 18 months and played just as good as the Kamuis. But since switching to the Elkmaster I've had some really good tournament results so I find it hard to speak against the good old Elks :-) I'll probably buy a Kamui Black super soft at next event so keep one on hold for moi ;-)

Sounds like the kamui is the way to go. I have ordered a Hercules h2 tip from eBay, has anyone tried these?
If its no good I will try the Kamui soft

I tried the Kamui Black SS and loved it especially with the 1.21a chalk, however i bought a new predator Ikon 9 and 314-2 shaft which obviously comes with a Tiger Everest which i used for years so until i need to re-tip i'll stick with the Everest.

Once the time comes for a new tip i will then go back to Kamui probably the medium or soft though this time.

Phil - I've seen Aslams name on the list however he is at a wheelchair event in Birmingham next weekend.
