Do you think that we will ever see these on tv over here? Maybe not so much the open but will we ever see the WPC on tv here again as I know Doha only have the tournament for 1 more year (2013).

Only if they put Matchroom in charge of it again.

who then Doug is going to unite pool under one body, one set of rules etc, WPA ??, matchroom/barry hearn etc have reinvented darts and snooker, pool can be bigger than them but too much arguing by those in power protecting there own vested interests, same in english pool, i've been there and seen various top officials almost coming to blows as someone tries to get a bit of their empire, or try to help unite the game

The World 9 Ball Championship is staged in Qatar. When their contract expires they may choose to renew it. If they don't then the tournament will go on the open market again and who knows where it will go. The WPA sanction the tournament and it does not have to be sanctioned by any other body or organisation. It could go back to Wales without requiring Welsh approval. So any factions as described above can argue to their heart's content and it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference. My only concern would be that the financial requirements to put on this event are set at about 25% of what Matchroom used to lavish on it from 1999 to 2008 and that would now makes it a shoestring event.
