From September 4th to the 9th
WITH THE PARTYPOKER.NET World Cup of Pool scheduled for
Tuesday 4th to Sunday 9th September in Manila,
the draw has now been made and there are some very exciting first round matches as 32 teams from around the world set their sights on the $60,000 top prize.
Taking place at Robinsons Place Mall in Ermita, the opening match of the tournament features defending champions Germany (Ralf Souquet and Thorsten Hohmann) looking to open their account against qualifiers Serbia.

We'll be getting daily reports from Luke Riches, and last year they did live TEXT commentary on the official website, but this is normally the one event a year that ISN'T shown live unfortunately... If I hear different, obviously I'll whack it on the front page.
Hopefully the lads will post something here too?

So, if these are the local start times, and Manila is GMT +8, does that mean start times over here are 4am, 7am, and 10am? Or have I got it completely wrong? World Cup of Pool
Frequency : Annual, every September.
TV Hours : 48 hours live or 31 x 1 hour highlights
Format : The World Cup of Pool filled a huge gap in the market, as Matchroom Sport devised an exciting instant knock-out format that pitted nation against nation for the first time in a major international pool event. Played over six days, the two-man teams do battle initially in race-to-8 matches with the games stretching to race-to-11 as the event progresses. All games are played to a ‘scotch doubles’ format whereby each player takes alternate shots.
Prize Fund : $250,000 Nations Represented : 31 nations from Europe, Asia, Oceania, North and South America
Venue : Manila, Philippines, Wales and Rotterdam.
