Tomorrow Saturday 18th August, St Albans Hurricane Room will play host to the first event of the new Total9ball Amateur Series. This series will be different to the previous three that have been run in the past as it will use the 2x format created by Phil Wildman last year. This format is unique to all others, allowing players to enter the draw twice meaning each player has 2 chances of making the prize money and double the amount of matches compared with a normal knockout event. These style events have been very well supported in the past and on the announcement of this new four event series that wasn’t about to change. I am proud to say we have 40 players confirmed for Event 1 which is a great achievement for a one day event, there will be a lot of talent on show on Saturday as the field is packed full of top amateurs from around the country and proven winners. Its great that the word about T9B events seems to be spreading as we are now attracting competitors from further a field in fact for this event we have attracted players from Neath, Leeds and Rotherham not to forget the main body of the field from London and surrounding areas. Its also fantastic to see new faces attending that haven’t played a T9B event previously. There will be rankings for this series with players finishing in the top 16 after the four events being offered a place at the T9B Amateur Grand Finals which will have money that’s been collected throughout the series included in the prize fund. Ranking points are as follows:- Attendance 3 Points plus 1 point per match win. This also brings an interesting twist as the player who emerges the winner of tomorrows event might not end the day as the rankings leader. Matches will begin at 10am sharp!!!, its going to be a long day there will be 16 prelim matches 8 on each side of the draw, in total there will be 77 matches played and a minimum of 616 racks based on each matching end 8-0 and we all know that’s not going to happen. So who will be victorious? Will a player become the first double champion by winning all matches and take 1st and 2nd prize? Will the trophy stay in the South or be taken to the North or even Wales? All questions will be answered tomorrow at St Albans Hurricane Room. The Winner will come from this list (any predictions) Predictions Finlay Laing Chris Buckmaster 1 Jazz Bamotra Nathan James Thomas Havelock Sean Dracup Henry Havelock Adam Stevens Geoff Windeatt Graham West Shakz Islam Tony David Yuk Chan Lionel Brown Sean Jones Greg Jansz Mark Hughes Tom Staveley Del Sim Mark Collins Jonathan Vaughan Adam Collins Courtney Symons 1 Paul Taylor Louis Clarke Mark Parker David Hood Luke Rollison 1 Wayne Rooke Tamar Al-said Roubaiy Paul Summerfield Mikko Tuomi Ramesh Gokhul Xristos Emir Secencer Gary Bullocke Mark Lunn 1 Mark Singleton 1 Kev Kelleher Phil Wildman If anybody would like to come along and watch you are more than welcome maybe come and have a look at how the event is run and get involved at the next event. Total9ball would like to remind players to bring any match balls they may have, please arrive on time as we are running a tight schedule and will have to dock racks if players are late. Also in order for this format to work and be finished at a reasonable time we have a rule that there is to be no practice in-between matches and that players must understand that whilst a player is still in the draw twice there maybe times where only a 5min break will be given between matches. See you all in just over 24 hours. [ This message was edited by: wildman147 on 2012-08-17 10:26 ]

Courtney symons and Luke Rollison are the 2 that stand out for me but it's a quality field and it's all on the day. Mark Lunn also got a great shout if carrying on from last week
