Sounds good if theres a decent turnout but the first tournament clashes with the 4th Annual British Amateur 9 Ball Singles Championships at the vegas bar

Yes I know but this is an every month event and we are hoping to build on the numbers as we go. There is so much in the pool calendar these days there are going to be clash he and there.
If people are going elsewhere they are very welcome at the next event in April and so on.

Will these tournaments just be turn up or by putting names down as dont want to drive 45 minutes to find im the only one who has turned up, also will the tables be free for a knock about?

We are just starting out on the monthly tournaments. Even if you have a list as I have done in the past there is still no saying who will turn up on the day unless you take payment in advance and I don't have the free time to organise that. With a bit of luck the numbers will grow over the coming months. What ever happen you will get an afternoon of play on a free table. The format will be fine tuned to reflect the numbers we get each month. I am also hoping if we get enough people to have a free challenge table going for people who are no longer in the event for short race money matches. Oh yes there will be a couple of tables available for a free knock before the event. All tournament tables are of course free for matches as well. ----------------- www.themole.me[ This message was edited by: The_Mole on 2012-02-18 13:39 ]

Is there any reasons certain clubs get there tables re-covered what seems to be every couple of years and other Riley's clubs never get new cloth?? When was the last time your tables got re-covered Mole?? Mansfield Riley's haven't had a new cloth for around 6 years or so unless it's happened recently. I practice at a friend's house but he's not as available for practice as i'd like which means i would have to play at the club, but refuse to pay good money out to practise on such poor quality tables.

Dazza - My understanding is that there is a national Rileys program of re-clothing tables. I know a few clubs that have been done now. I can't remember the last time we had a table reclothed in Darlington. This is why we are so happy and starting to do some events!!!! I'm just happy it's been done in Darlington at last and we are going to enjoy it

If anyone who is coming has their own match balls it would be helpful if they can bring them. Be nice to see some of the northern players on Saturday
