Just wondered if anyone else thinks that the pro division should stay at 32 given the strength in depth now seen. I know that previously it has had problems finding 32 'pro' players but looking at the rankings now, I don't think it would be an issue. The problem I see with creating the elite 16 is that if players ranked 5-8 on the challenge take up the option of promotion, we could have a pro division without Chris melling, Mark Gray, Phil burford, Kev Uzzell and in turn would create an elite 4 within the challenge. Also, what would happen if Darren Appleton, tony Drago, raj , Richard jones etc turned up, as there would be no room to squeeze them into the pro division ? Anyone else got any thoughts on this

Using your theory Chris Melling & Kev Uzell would be playing on the challenge despite both winning titles as Pro tour players. Can't be right surely?

The way I read the rules. It would be top eight pro's, then top four challenge, then 5-8 challenge. Which would make 16 players. The next selection criteria was for established cue sport pro's but how do you fit them in with taking spots of the above players or extending the 16 to allow for them. It is a point well raised Paw, just day dreaming now about Melling v Grey in the first round of the challenge that would get the crowds in at 5pm

Surely if the pro division is full at a certain event and the likes of Darren/Tony/Ricardo etc turn up you create a pre-lim round and accept a few more in that event!!!
