It's always a bit of a dilemma about what to put on the front page, and when... Obviously I want to add all the best news as soon as I can, and sometimes that can even mean as many as 5 articles getting added to Pro9's front page in a single day. I always worry that people might miss a great article, so here's a "heads up" about a terrific article that was worth waiting for - it's the GB 9 Ball Tour's official press release from The British Grand Prix. A smashing bit of work, somebody has really pout some effort into it, with some great photos by Andy Warden too, please don't miss it... www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1801

It's a bit of an unknown Dave, but I'm the guy that comes up with the text! Since about the age of 16 or 17 I've just loved writing. Songs at first (guitarist as well, away fro, this fine billiards world of ours ), then moved onto articles too. Ben Moore was the previous 'writing man' (I'm almost certain it was him anyway), and when I joined the committee 11 months ago I almost instantly said I'd love to give this a go after he left the tour. I always thought he did a cracking job so I knew I had some big boots to fill, but I'd like to think my lexicon has been broader and better than my 9-ball ability this season! Oddly I think this is one of my worst write-ups of 2011! But alas, if you and the Pro9 punters enjoy what we as a tour come up with then on behalf of the GB9 committee I want to say thank you for such recognition. More of the same next season I hope, and even cheesier headlines if I'm not careful!! Martyn 'The Voice' Royce - player, referee, writer, commentator, and a bit of a plonker to boot.

Martyn 'The Voice' Royce - player, referee, writer, commentator, and a bit of a plonker to boot. You're doing a fantastic job Martyn, your passion for the game really comes across in your words. I hope you keep both the writing and the refereeing up as they are two areas that do so much to set GB9 (not forgetting your stint on MMTV either) apart from the rest. As for this tournament report being your worst, I disagree as I enjoyed reading this no less than the previous events. It's easy to think of the reports as chapters in the 2011 book but something I would've liked to have done was to write each tournament as if it was the World Championships, as if this was the big one, the one that mattered. I never managed to do it but then again, I was more often than not found caressing a pint than a pen. The acid test was always whether Big Dave liked it or not, you're clearly on the right track. Thanks for the mention Martyn, much respect. Ben. [ This message was edited by: Benjamin on 2011-11-29 11:49 ]

Rest assured Ben I'll do exactly that. Wouldn't mind picking up my game a tiny bit too but the refereeing side has become the more important side now. Thanks for the kind words mate.
