Series details

Each player that enters an event gets placed in the draw twice, once in the left half of the draw and once in the right half, this means you cant draw yourself until the Final, If this happens the player will be paid the prize money allocated for the winner and the runner up (this hasn’t happen yet. can you make Total9ball history and become the first player to master this event?).
Each event winner will be seeded and will receive free entry into the Grand Final held on the weekend of 24th and 25th November 2012. Players that reach the Semi-Final or are the Runner Up at an event will also be entered into the Grand Finals but at an entry fee of £30.

We expect each event within the series to pay a minimum of £500 to the winner, prize money will begin at the Quarter Final stage. The figures above are based on a full field of 32 players.

The Winner of each event will receive a trophy. All Grand Finalists will be awarded a Total9ball Grand Finalists Medal.

A realistic prize pool for the Grand Finals based on a full field of 32 players at each of the 8 events during the Series is £2000 (we hope this will be more however we don’t want to set an unrealistic target)

There will be 3 different entry fees

        ***£60 Pro Players***
***£55 ex pro's and top amateur players***
    ***£50 for lower ranked players***
(The entries fees above cover each player for 2x entry also T9B deductions are included)

Players will be given a small Handicap

        *** -3 Grand Masters***
        *** -2 Masters***
        *** -1 advanced***
        *** 0 intermediate***
        *** +1 Open***

Each events matches will be minimum race to 7 racks. We will try to increase match races at the clubs that offer more than 8 tables.

Total9Ball believes this tournament is the ultimate test of a 9ball player, Have you got the Stamina to keep focused all day? The bottle to be the first player to take first and second prize? The fitness to play races to 7 back to back to back? The ability to keep cueing throughout the day? The Drive to become Champion Of The Nation.

Rules

***Rack em High***
***2 ball at the back***
***3 point rule***
***Alternate Breaks***
***Golden Breaks allowed***
***Magic Racks to be used***

Lateness

5 minutes late to a match – loss of 1 rack
a rack will be conceded every 2 minutes there after.
15 minutes late to a match - match awarded to the opponent

Draws

All Draws will be made in advance, this will be done at another event and will be conducted by the players and therefore witnessed.
***Match times for first matches will be given a week before the event (First matches will always be 9.30am. If your traveling a long way to the event Total9ball may be able to offer a later start time)

Questions and Answers

Do I have to enter all events?
No, players can enter as many events as they want to.

What happens if I qualify for the Grand Finals twice?
If a player qualifies twice for the Grand Final, T9B will buy your extra Grand Final place for half the entry fee you paid to get into the event. This Grand Final place will then be given away at the Grand Finals qualifier.

Will the Grand Finals be a 2x entry event?
Yes all events will be 2x entry apart from the Grand Final Qualifier, this will run on a different format to allow us to let as many players enter as possible.

Have these 2x events worked in the past?
Yes Total9ball have run a few of these event already, each event has always finished before the scheduled end time, entry has been full within a few hours and the feedback has been great.

Some venues haven’t yet been announced... when do you think this info will be available?
Total9ball are hoping to have all venues confirmed by the end of this month (Sept 2011) at this point a promotional poster for the event will be made.

Can I enter an event yet?
We are now taking entries for the first 2 events... please attach your name along with the event you would like to enter to this thread. We will then add your name to the entry list.

Where does the prize money begin and how much doT9B expect the winner to get at each event?
The prize money will begin at the quarter final stages and we expect the winners prize to be a minimum of £500 based on 32 entries.

Do you expect event to fill quickly?
Don’t delay your entry, previous events using this new format run at St Albans and Mickey Flynns have been full in under 7 hours and that’s without the extra value of the Grand Finals.

Is there a dress code?
There isn’t a dress code for these events.

How can I pay my entry fee and will T9B accept cash on the Day?
Entry Fees can be paid by Bank Transfer, Pay-pal, Cheque or cash at another event. T9B wont accept any cash payments on the day as the draw is done in advance and if your entry isn’t paid on time you wont be in the draw. Total9ball will request a payment date when a player enters an event, this must be stuck to... if a payment isn’t received by the date given... the player will be removed from the entry list and a reserve will replace them.
Strict but fair!!!

What is Total9ball's Goal?
Total9ball's goals is to offer great value tournaments with new/different formats to increase the interest in this fantastic sport we play.

Does Total9ball have a sponsor for this series?
Currently we don’t... we are however currently actively seeking sponsorship, If anybody is interested in sponsoring this series please contact Phil Wildman on 07766114458 or E-mail pl_wildman@hotmail.co.uk

Any further questions??? please ask away and we will get back to you with an answer asap. (Please keep questions sensible)

Hi Mike good question this is something I didnt really look at, as I expected the entry to be high and different players at most events. The idea is to get as much prize money in the Grand Finals as possible so offering even a small discount say one event free if 10 players do this it wipes out £500 that could be in the prize pool for the Finals. So I have decided if a player attends 6 events or more they will be put into 2 comps at the Grand Final Qualifer, the standard qualifer and a short race event for an extra qualifing place (against other players attending 6 events or more only). If the player has already qualified they will get discounted entry to the Grand Final. Cheers for the support Mike.

Just a suggestion, but why are top pros paying only a little more than rank amateurs? Isn't it time those taking home the bacon paid a LOT more than us bangers?
