!!! QUOTE !!! lowest handicap will always race to 7 players off level hanidcaps will also race to 7 Am probably tired and being a bit thick but please can you make that clearer for me. What does the other guy race to? Surely the race is always the same in every match and you just start from your handicap? Please don't say I'm giving a 2 start in a race to 7. Confused lol [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2012-08-10 10:12 ]

!!! QUOTE !!! races will be to 11 with handicaps 0 pro +2 top amateur +4 amateur Now that bit I can understand. I'm thinking a +2 player verses a +4 player instead of starting on 2 and 4 respectively and racing to 11 you would start on 0 and 2 and race to 9 (same thing really). So if a 0 plays a +4 I would expect it to be a race to 11 with one player getting 4 start. And if a 0 v +2 you would race to 11, yes? I can't work out if you've shortened the race from what you first announced or if you're saying one player races to one figure and another player races to another figure. If the latter I'm not sure if it's just me but I find that really hard to follow compared with you both racing to the same target and one of you getting a start. yes lee i think you are a bit confused.......
the least number of racks a player will have to win is 7
0 plays a +2 race to 9 for example
also 2 players that are on the same handicap will race to 7, if 2 scratch handicaps play each other rather than race to 11 they will race to 7
dont worry lee its all in hand, ur job is to turn up and play!!

!!! QUOTE !!! dont worry lee its all in hand, ur job is to turn up and play!! A big part of that is understanding what race I'm playing to and being sure everyone else is playing to the same rules, hence my question. I just find it very confusing to say 'lowest handicap will always race to 7'. When in fact they are racing to 9 or 11 if a start is involved and giving a 2 or 4 start. So I think it was a reasonable question. I think you meant highest (not lowest) handicapped players will always have to win 7 racks. I get it now. Also good to see the likes of Elliot Sanderson, Mark Singleton and Mark Lunn make the effort to come over as well....
32+ entries and £1230 notes paid for a day event is decent...
Player of day was Mark Lunn didnt miss much and took scalps of Ozzie and Imran..........
Look forward to next event, keep up good work mate..

Had a great day, loved the layout of the club and enjoyed the comp. I agree with Mark G, Lunn played well all day and deserved his place in final, shame Imran called him a cheat as when amateurs like ourselves beat top pros and players we look up to its nice to enjoy the moment rather than have it wrongly tainted like that but it definitely didn't ruin the day for us and I'm looking forward to coming back for a future comp. Yep was an awesome day, wasn't sure about the tables at first but they played pretty well in the end considering your table fitter let you down.
Cheers for nice words, means a lot, so nice to beat players of that caliber and to split final of that field is probably the best tournament of my life!
Great tourney hopefully be back - Northerners... Taking on the South!

Legend that lad I scratched my nose whilst Imran was down on his shot, innocent mistake just a natural reaction. I was 7-5 up at the time, had him hooked on the 1 he was kicking out. Hit the 1, then I ran the rack and broke ran to win Tried to apologise after the game for what I thought was an innocent mistake but got told I didnt deserve to win, which I would agree with if I had have done it on purpose. Those who know me will vouch for my integrity.

Well done Mark on getting to the Final with Rich, was a tough field - never easy at Mickeys!
