No-one suggested how Ralf should play the game...they said his shot selection was poor. If you watched it, I can't understand how you could argue that it wasn't poor? I think Ralf himself would probably say the same - of course he was under pressure but he still played a fair few negative shots. With confidence (like the US team had - well at least three of them anyway), I think he'd have played many shots differently.

just out of curiosity mate if ralf would have pulled the shots off what he was intendin, would people still have been sayin it was the wrong shot selection,if you watch many pool games on tv,you often sit n watch n say to yourself, wrong shot this but after its played it turns out good, like i said its everybodys opinions.no one is right or wrong, ralf makes the shots then its a great shot,if he boo boos then its the wrong shot,i watched it all and denis hatch played some bad shots but recovered with some good cover shots, suppose his shot selection was poor, never endin this debate

cd n melling are 9 ball wannabes like me but just aint guna happen, same boat us boys.

never goin to be along side appleton, gray, peach ,boyes n majid, banger pal :-)

we all make the wrong decisions from time to time .. just as tiger woods does on and off the golf course..lol

plus with 30second clock shot sometimes your forced into playing shots your not sure if correct or not so its tough sometimes..

but full credit to usa they got the breaks and played well and deserved to win.. we lost it the first day.. we battled hard and imo we was close if ralf wins his last game am sure it goes 10-10.. but all ifs and buts ..bottom line they played a little better than us especially archer who for me was mvp..followed by hatch

was great week except the result and now got taste for it i want more!

next year i think be malta or london but no venue set yet

I don't think it will be Malta again, they didn't get the turnout they expected last year

Chris Melling is one of the most talented people ever in cue sports imo, and a nice bloke too.

Calling him a banger and no brain is wrong imo, I think you have made an assumption of Chris having no brain because of his technique.

For example, if Chris was more deliberate in his action, ie - slower you wouldnt have the same opinion.

Its just because he is a quick, fluent player and likes to get on with it.

I would liken Chris to a Ronnie O'Sullivan of 10 years ago, and I think its a fair comparison.

Not right disrespecting players imo, more often than not is jealous amatuers looking for attention rather than constructive critisism.

the northern pool player, or poolius bangerus, is a curious beast. they can be found prowling internet pool forums occasionally by day but most often at night.

poolius bangerus need for the females of the species is rare as their time is mostly spend preening and pampering the rest of the herd. constant reassurance they they are special and loved is required, more so than even water or food.

a true pack animal, they are lost without their friends. if one of the herd comes under threat the rest turn instantly aggressive, striking out in all directions against any who threaten their kin. the loyalty towards each other and no-one else is mind-blowing. a simple territory dispute between a single male and another species sees them appearing from all sides to teach the intruder a lesson. one by one they relentlessly pounce, over and over again.

however, they are at their most deadly in attack. like hyenas, a vunerable, lonely prey is spotted and the entire herd descend upon them. claws out, biting over and over again, it's a brutal assault on an unsuspecting enemy that continues until there is nothing left. poolius bangerus are too wiley to take a risk and prey upon a beast greater than them and risk defeat. their way is to single out a weaker individual and attack from behind or only in vast numbers.

the poolius bangerus never truly relax. despite feeling they are lords of the jungle, the need for constant displays of masculinity arrise. this usually involves a lot of shreiking and puffing out of chests followed by displays of homo-erotic admiration for one another.

occasionally, a senior member of the herd will antagonise and challenge a significantly weaker species to a duel, but seldom do they have the bravery to duel with a anyone their own size. should the other species decline, expect to hear a deafening chorus of whooping and chest beating. extreme arrogance doesn't always go hand in hand with bravery.

poolius bangerus are currently on the pest control list and people are encouraged to shoot on sight.
