Well done Kev and unlucky to Justin! Two finals on the run now for Mr. J and I'm sure that he's due to win a Merseyside event sooner rather than later! I think we can all agree that the overall standard was inexplicably well below par but I'm sure that Kev will put in the right practice and be a threat when his choice of GB9 event comes around!

I feel a bit like how Rocky Balboa must have after beating Creed and then going on to be crushed by Lang! A good sporting montage may be in order that is a showcase for all the work that is going to go into ensuring that I never play how I did yesterday again!

Roll on August...

:)

Also, I forgot the obvious thanks to Tony for running the event. Without his efforts, Merseyside wouldn't have a monthly event!

Well done to Kev on winning the event and well done to Justin getting to another final, big thanks to Tony for running the event. It was a good experience and a fun day out for me first time playing 9 ball on a full size table and competitively was glad not too disgrace myself too much lol

@ LeviG

By all accounts you played some good Pool and with that solid Snooker background you will only get better and better with each event! We'll all be back to normal form for the next event though...

I hope!

:)

Hi fellow 9ball heads,

It was indeed a strange one this, I don't think anyone brought their A game to be honest and although I am very happy at getting to my 2nd consecutive Final I have to say the standard was shocking in that Final! Personally speaking I was shattered and played the worst game of my life so please take it with a bucket of salt if you watch the footage haha not a good advertisement of 9ball!

That said, I was lucky to get 5 racks in that Final and I cannot take anything away from Kevin for a well deserved victory. Again, Tony did a superb job in organising and I am very grateful to be playing in regular events. All the guys who turn up are top lads and anyone has the ability to win a comp.

Looking forward to the next event, I am looking forward to trying to win one rather than losing in the Final every time haha I am not the best player in it, I'm either top quality or absolute sh*te, but I have a strong will to win and if I can hack the long day and improve my consistency/stamina I will hopefully go one better.

See you next month if not before peeps :)

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, the taste of defeat was shortly sweetened after the event as I went to the casino with Levi and Phil and I managed to win a handsome £300 which was bloody brilliant! :)

9ball, casino, a few beers....what a fantastic weekend! Have a good week everyone :)

Nice £300 win! I was too busy walking across Liverpool in the heavy rain in a t-shirt and shorts to notice that one. How did the other two finish up? I know that Levi and your other friend (I'm not sure of his name yet) were both ahead so it appears that your luck is universal and not just restricted to the pool table!

:)

Attention all guys that entered this qualifier but were unsuccessful. If you wish to enter the next event at Stansted on 9-11 August then we will credit your £20 qualifier entry fee you towards entry to the event so you would just pay £100 plus your hotel costs.

Contact me if you're interested.

@ cueman

Would this deal also apply if a player was interested in playing the final GB9 event in Telford? I'm not looking to confirm but it may be interesting to me if that was the case!

:)
