Yeah I spotted this as well, it depends on whther Andy's classing last seasons pro's as "pro players" or those players who are pro this season (ie: those that have been promoted). Depending which way it is, either Adam Smith or Daryls team have contain 2 pros.

Depends what criteria Andy is using. GB9's criteria for the Pro division is just that... criteria for playing in the pro cup events and is only based on results from the GB9 Pro and Challenge Cups. Although I appreciate many organisors use this as a guide the GB9 criteria does not denote any official professional status, nor is it necessarily the best way of measuring overall ability or performance in all competetion. If wanting a measure of ability or performance you might be better using main event rankings (the official UK ranking) or even a combination of all 3 from the GB9 site. Another way is to make it completely judgemental on the part of the organisor.

There are various ways to do it but at the end of the day it's up to organisors to decide. I'm just cautioning on using GB9 data in a way it was not intended i.e. to denote this person is a pro and this person is not. For example if you use that criteria alone (am not suggesting Andy is because I don;t know what criteria he is using), Chris Melling is not a pro and neither is Mick Hill.

If an organisor wants me to recommend a way of drawing this line I'd be happy to make a suggestion.

OK just to clarify: referring to GB9 Pro Rankings I said 'For example if you use this criteria alone....'.

You've not said what the criteria is. I agree that common sense is the best way but people like to see lines drawn.

Exactly!

Well, A worthington is a chauffeur and works every hour god sends......he's not a pro pool player......he played in challenge last year.

That's my team Andy (me, Lou, & Andy), i think its a very fair team compared to a couple other teams, so if it's not allowed then that's your choice......as you say, common sense usually prevails.

Let me know whether you want us there or not......there will be no "bad feeling" no matter what decision you make.
