@ tigger147

"I have my doubts with other people if I'm honest!"

This was what I was talking about when I said funny!

@ Jhopthehitman

I'm glad to hear that you got a good game this week after I let you down on Wednesday! I ended up going out and after half an hour playing Snooker in that heat I wanted to snap my cue so it's probably a good thing I never made the effort to travel and play in your hot room! I've decided that I'm not taking my cue out again until the heat goes away or I play the qualifier!

:)

What would happen in this instance though if you do not get 16 paid entries on the day?
Would they get the full prize fund and have to pay the difference?

An event like this in my opinion needs to be paid up front so that people who are travelling a fair distance are not disappointed when they get to the club.

Personally i feel if you don't get 16 paid entries upfront then the event should be postponed/cancelled to avoid disappointment?

Ok, 13 paid entries. Same applies whether it's 13, 16 or 32????

Maybe the 1st post needs updating as it states they need 16 paid entries.........................

No.

Especially not travelling 2.5 hours to find out i have to add money to enter a GB9 event even if i come out the winner of an event in which it's all supposed to be covered.

I was supposed to enter the Solihull one until work commitments came in the way of that.

I hope you get the payments you need however i have been around long enough to know payments up front are hard to get..

I'm sorry Tony! I was supposed to post out a cheque on Thursday but it completely slipped my mind. I will be there on Saturday and personally I'm not worried so long as I have at least one other person to play! A single race to 21 for a chance at making £20 sounds good to me!

:)

I'm just grateful for a nice clean, competitive game! If an event never happened at all I'd be disappointed as it's another month until we get another.

To be honest, I love pool and the chance to have a good quality game against fellow fanatics is fantastic. Obviously the more entries the better and the GB9 is the level we must all aspire to, especially with the financial possibilities, but I am happy to play even if there are only a few of us. I am always blooby broke so if I can play a comp and win a little or even just a 20 game with someone I am a happy man. Come on lads don't be so darn negative, Tony has gone to the trouble trying to organise some decent local events so bring your game, enjoy and lets do battle! :)

@ billiardbloke

I'm glad to hear it and it'll be nice to meet a new Pro9 member! I suppose we have no way of knowing who will turn up to play but hopefully regardless of numbers we all have a good game and a fun day. If we do have to create a new format I think we need to offer a good amount of pool for the De Niro!

Likewise Phil, I'm looking forward to the weekend too and if we have to tinker with the format then so be it. My team (west brom) got bloody lucky against Liverpool last season so I hope a bit of that rubs off on me Saturday.

I will be bringing my match balls. As you mentioned, no point transferring payment today Tony so will bring entrance fees with us tomorrow on the day. See you then.

How many entries did you get in the end?

Who won the entry into GB9?

Hope it was a success.....

11 showed up all paying a bit more to ensure we had the GB9 fees covered, event won by Kev Porter who beat Justin Hopper 9-5 in the final, which was not the best game after a long day.

Full video (warts and all) to follow !!

In the pic, Kev is on the right, good luck at GB9 mate
