I suppose we could look at things in the 'glass half full' sense and think that if we win 5-0 tonight we have tied the Mosconi Cup up at 7-7. Just saying

I've never been one for excuses, but........ apart from being very good, the USA have been very lucky......a stunning combination. The glass looks half empty [ This message was edited by: InsideEnglish on 2009-12-12 12:12 ]

7-2, think it's time to panic thought Daz had Archer last night we need to win all 5 tonight to have a realistic chance. Maybe the pressure of being favourites has hindered us????

By the way, im enjoying Hatch's passion for the Mosconi, but what did people think of his actions towards Lely I think it was, last night.
Shouting and pointing at him "1 plus 1" in a really aggresive manner.
Was it OK? Would we be moaning (and maybe laughing) if Earl the Pearl did it?
Fans give players stick in ALL sports, but being a pro you should ignore it. I would be embarrsed if a euro team memeber did what Hatch did.
Thoughts on this anyone?

Thoughts on this anyone? He over reacted, but he felt Lely had made a rude remark, just showing some passion, perhaps thats what Europe needs more of, ............comments

Hatch is trying way too hard to be some sort of big character, to secure himself a spot in the team for years to come. It's cringe worthy watching it eeeew.
Both teams aren't playing Mosconi Cup standard pool, USA are just the better out of two trash teams.
But like Dazza said, it's still very doable if we have a good day today. So let's not give up hope!

all over bar the shouting !!! hatch has been a massive influance on the yanks, just wat they need, europe need a character like this, there is no team spirit whats so ever, is it just me or does team europe just look dull and boring, maybe because they are losing ????

Id be more embarrassed as a euroteam member if my captain said 1 plus 1 to opponents on a dry break they obv didnt notice and just asked the question!!

One of my little sayings is "its not how you start a match, its how you finish it that counts!" ....and that little saying was evident in all matches yesterday.....the only Euro player that finished strong/confidently was Hohmann, and he was our winner. Ralf/Niels both made big mistakes towards the end of the pairs match, and Archer/Van Boening just played so well all the way through. Very early on in this match I got the feeling that the American pair were looking way to much in control of both the match, and there own emotions. Duell made errors at end of singles match against Hohmann, and even tho Hohmann missed a couple of silly shots early on in the match, he made some big shots at the right time and finished like a train! The thing what really stood out for me in this match was the kicking skills of Corey Duell......absolute fantastic at times. Hatch/Dominguez Dominated Darren/Mika the whole match from start to finish. Even though Darren played some good stuff, Mika looked like a lost little Kitten......Mainly cos of Hatches Dominating Presence, basically he bullied our boys all over the room and we had no answer! Archers Break was awesome against Daz from start to finish, making 4 balls a couple of times early on, but not getting the roll to see the ball on. Darrens break was much weaker, but manges to make a ball and get a shot with not too much to do.....going on to run the balls out comfortably. Towards the end of the match, Archer got his steam up, continuing his good breaking but now getting a result. Darrens break faultered, and he made 2 massive safety errors to give Archer the chances that he needed to finish the match with a bang. The few main things that have been the difference upto now are: Mistakes.....far fewer mistakes from the Americans. Confidence.....USA look like winners even before the lag! Break.....USA have broke far better than Europe, mainly i think cos the balls are not fully tapped, so the break requires more than just "an easy tickle n play position on the 1ball" like its been for most of the Euro events. All the Americans have superior power breaks than our boys. The Hatchet Man.....Real team player, very vocal, very passionate, very powerful and infuential guy. This is the one thing that team Europe dont have this year.....we have lots of titles, they all go out of the window when it comes to the Mosconi Cup....Beleive me! I know Dennis very well cos he is backed by the same man who backs me in the States...As well as all of the above, he is an awesome player and a real telent! the reason why many people would not of heared of him, is cos he doesnt travel outside of the States. 2-7 down.....its not the end of the world, and USA still have to get 4 points. All the pressure is off team Europe now, and it will swing around onto the USA players shoulders, but are they broad enough to carry it? Well, we will see. I think its USA's to lose now, so lets see if they handle the pressure better than our buys have. Dazzler.....theres only one slim dazzler! -----------------

Thoughts on this anyone? Hatch has shown that he is a very emotional player/person.....as in the T.V interviews he admitted to crying like a baby with emotion, pride etc.....although it does make for very good T.V when someone goes O.T.T......I think 95% of it was down to him just being an "American".....as anyone who visits the States or comes into contact with them (Americans) will know that they love to be the "loudest" and are qiute irratating at times to us more "reserved" U.K folk ! The Agent p.s - bet if Big lad Drago was in our corner he wuddn't have come over ! [ This message was edited by: Agentsoap on 2009-12-12 13:52 ]

I certainly agree with Daryls comment about Corys kick shots. Some of those were simply outrageous. Never seen anything like that before (Kick on the two ball, 3 rail shot, anybody?).
Daz didn't do a whole lot wrong in his last match. Archer showed the skills to be a true champion, didn't lose heart from 5-1 and got on a did it. Truly amazing composure.
Hatch is great to watch on TV, what a shot maker and wears his heart on his sleeve, nothing wrong with that. The man has history, thats for sure but he certainly deserves his place in the team.
Team spirit needs to come back to Europe.......where is Chamat when you need him???

the european team simply have to start getting the balls moving off the break... to soft break and give up control of the table at say 4 - 3 down in a race to 6 is criminal.. the stun / cut break is so effective with tapped balls but can be so frustrating with non tapped balls... if your gonna get beat at least go down with plenty of power in the break.. having said this i fully expect our lads to come out tonight and win the session with a change of breaking tactics.. as daryl said the winning line is in sight which will tighten up the yanks i think.. mika needs to get loose and play his game.. feel a bit for daz as winning that game last night would have really pumped him and the team right up.. prediction.... win the session tonight and if lady luck just turns on our side and the lads figure the break out we could still do it....
