Darren has achieved an unbelievable set of achievements since he won the World 10-Ball title. He could go on to become one of the all-time greats of this game and is close to being thought of in that way already.
Bring it home Daz! Outstanding.

WOW... This final match is a much closer affair isn't it? Very back and forth... Darren seems to always be leading but either of these two could close the game at any point. Bit nervy!

Was a great combo on the 10 in the final run to close out the match by Thorston. Do or die as Darren said.

thanks for messages everyone ..sorry i didnt finish the job absolutley sick right now.. i felt too calm and relaxed in final after semi final was huge high... i just didnt feel anything in final... but wanted to win a lot.. referee struggle rack the balls so i get bad splits lot of time... i missed a easy ball when score around 50 each.. cost me alot as hohman run around 75.. but i come back and go up 158-143 get another bad rack and left with tough shot which i miss.. but then he scratch on the break..so another great chance but after 6 balls i play wrong shot and get stuck in stack bit unlucky but didnt need to play the shot..but hindsight shouldve played with follow also i didnt realise he was on one foul i wouldve just took intensional foul forced him to take 3 fouls he would then lose 18 balls total rack them up and break score wouldve been 162-142 me..and me with advantage ( mental error because felt bit jaded head wasnt thinking clear for most of match.. but i end up taken a bank jacked over a ball which wasnt really on.. but was no other shot... then he run out the match and made a crazy combo on me .. take while to recover my previous 4 matches i only needed 8 innings to combine 750pts ..then final couple of silly mental errors one really easy missed ball 2 toughish balls missed and couple of bad rolls near end were my downfall..but congrats to toastie great acheivement to win it 3x. maybe the 200 ball run cost me.. maybe one day i will tae pleasure in it.. but right now prob better if i didnt make it lol.. anyway thanks for all support daz ----------------- world ranked no 1 and current world 9ball champion Available for exhibitions & coaching www.darrenappleton.com

Congratulations and commiserations Darren! Well done, semi was awesome, but you can't win 'em all I suppose!
I've just started trying to play straight pool and am confused by this comment:
" i didnt realise he was on one foul i wouldve just took intensional foul forced him to take 3 fouls"
Can you explain to a straight pool newbie how you could've forced him to foul in straight pool? Or have I read that wrong?
I didn't see the end of the match unfortunately, but are you saying he was 'on one foul' because he scratched off the break? My understanding is that scratching off the break doesn't count for the 3 fouls rule?

Any foul is a foul .. And that foul Carrys until he play a legal shot .. Cueball was stuck in stack and was no safety so he not going to risk leaving me a poopie which he would've done .. Obviously I would take 2 fouls for him to take 3..
