Congratulations to Phil Hughes for his first 9 ball tournament win, beating former BPPPA player Justin Hopper who was on the comeback trail, Phil won the final 7-1, after receiving a walkover in the semi-final as James Bray had to leave, in the other semi, Justin beat Tony Southern 7-6 in a epic battle. Next up is the North West GB9 qualifier on July 27th at Rileys Grand Central-Liverpool http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/viewtopic.php?forum=2&topic=5625 [ This message was edited by: tigger147 on 2013-06-23 20:27 ]

Hi Guys, Justin Hopper here. I am new to Pro9 so apologies if this doesn't get posted right lol! Just want to say what a great day the Merseyside Open was, it was great to get back involved after 5 years in the wilderness just playing at home. Also great to meet fellow 9ball lovers...I had too many pints by the end of the day but shall be fully focussed on trying to win the GB9 qualifier haha! Major thanks to Tony for organising and getting me back in the 9ball community and congrats to Phil for the good victory in the Final. As Phil said, my trickshots are at http://www.youtube.com/user/jhopthehitmanthey are just a bit of fun and a bit tongue in cheek! Look forward to playing some of you soon peeps

@sinnerro I actually haven't played a single shot with the Predator chalk that you gifted to me yet! The gesture was very much appreciated though and I'm going to have a week of not playing before tuning my cue up and clearing the tip of any Master chalk. We'll see what I think of the Predator chalk but by all accounts most see it as a hair better than Masters which I already quite like. @Jhopthehitman Did you check the last link in my last post in this thread? It's that "impossible" shot that I was telling you about in the pub after the final!

Hi Phil, Those shots are pretty sick...the last one is UNBELIEVABLE! It defies the laws of physics and then some...think I would be on the table all day trying to nail that one! My fourth vid should be out soon will let you know, again a bit of fun but I have used a lot more props and innovation. Not going to attempt your one though haha nice one bud

I want to do my own vid in the style of yours! I'd only really be doing stroke shots and swerve because that's what I like! The odd set up shot can be pretty cool but I'm more impressed by shots like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nyuly3WUpwkWhat a legend! His reaction is priceless too...

Also, the lovely players in Widnes (my home town) think that the "unbelievable" shot is "easy" and that "anybody can do it", kind of why I don't talk to any of the bitter losers! [ This message was edited by: PH on 2013-06-26 09:11 ]

Haha, nice editing of the F Word Phil, sneaky hehe! That shot by Earl The Pearl was pretty impressive....shots like that are for proper 9ball players to appreciate due to the pure action on the cue ball. My shots are more for entertainment value but 90% of them self invented which I am proud about. Check this one out for entertainment value.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XTGBOKqccwNo skill but pure genius!

LOL! I had a non-pool-player relative show me this when I visited his house and it looked rather bitter when I said I wasn't impressed! In fairness though, it is rather entertaining and I appreciate the artistic merit of it! This guy sets the bar for trickshots these days... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TWEWfbhxD4

Duuuuude! That 'Venom' guy is something else! I have seen the World Pool Trickshot Championships before and this guy would surely win! The action he can get on the cue ball is ridiculous! I have always been a big fan of the trickshot pioneer himself, Mike Massey, but that guy 'Venom' is on a level of his own if you ask me! Would give some of those shots a go but don't fancy a broken tip of next months tournament lol!
