It certainly seems like he's in form... If only we could have a punt somewhere? Darren Appleton is on InsidePOOL's free "security camera sytle" livestream here... www.ustream.tv/insidepoolmag ...Apparently they're taking a short break right at this minute, but they'll be right back. WOW... I'm watching the www.Accu-Stats.com PPV live stream! It's the player's meeting while they do the redraw for this round. I'm just listening to the rules of play being laid out by the tournament director on the microphone - they have a rule for everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! Fascinating! (Disclaimer: If you're not a pool-aholic your definition of fascinating may differ from mine)

They redraw every round at this event, and some of the first 1-Pocket matches announced are pretty tasty, I managed to note down these... Scott Frost vs. Gabe Owen Shane Van Boening vs. Chris Batram Raphael Martinez vs. Niels Feijen ...I wonder which will be on the main table? Update: The Accu-Stats TV Arena match will be... Thorsten Hohmann vs. Jose Parica Commentators: Danny Diliberto and Mark Wilson ...Nice! Please note that the PPV live stream provided by www.Accu-Stats.com is far superior when compared to the free streams being provided - multiple views, camera operators, experienced commentators, onscreen ball and rack count, and pro lighting etc. You definitely get what you pay for! From Dennis Walsh
Derby City Straight Pool Challenge
The 2013 DCC 14.1 Challenge is over. We had a successful event this year with a record amount of 49 entries and the tournament concluding with the final match at a reasonable hour. The 10 foot tables turned out to be quite a challenge for the players as the high runs were down considerably from years past. It appeared that only Niels Feijen, Max Eberle, and an English snooker player named Stuart Pettman got comfortable with the tables by the end of the event. There were only two hundred ball runs, both by Pettman, though Niels got close with a 70 and an 86.
Our gracious sponsors, Diamond Billiards, Stu Mattana, Rich Klein and Simonis Cloth added $7,250 to our $4,900 in entries which led to a total purse of $12,150.
Payouts include daily high run bonuses and $1000 for the high run of the event.
Max Eberle $2650 Stuart Pettman $2275 Dennis Orcollo $1700 Niels Feijen $1475 Alex Pagulayan $1200 Darren Appleton $1000 Ralph Eckert $850 Jayson Shaw $700 Adam Smith $200 Danny Harriman $100
