Chris Melling is into the Semi-Finals of the World 8 Ball Championship after beating Roberto Gomez 9-4.
He's not had the easiest route either, having taken out Thosten Hohmann 9-4 in the Quarter-Finals too!
The most amazing news is that it COULD be an incredible THREE TAIWANESE and CHRIS MELLING that comprise the final 4 players in the tournament.

Taiwan's Ko Pin-Yi just got beat by China's Liu Haitao 8-9 - so it's 1 Brit, 1 Chinese, and 2 Taiwanese in the semis.
Gooooooooooooooooo Chris.

From what I've read I think everyone was expecting Chris to win this, he's been playing really confidently and fast and looking like the man to beat, almost like the title was his to lose, and I'm sure he's going to be disappointed.

just got home.. unlucky chris nice tournament..
from the quarter finals i thought ko pin yi was the man to beat because he got the best break i ever see never comes dry.. but he got kicked in off couple of times and missed a chance so lost 9-8.. him going out was good for chris , chris wasn't breaking very good and i worried this would cost him.. and also i thought ortmann great chance because great 8ball player but i think he got sick just before his last 8 match and played bad.. from semi final i thought winner of chang and chris would win it again chang got a big break which massive in 8ball and a really good potter also.. and it sounds like break cost chris.. the other two in semi was a surprise really ...
still good showing from chris..
congrats to chang nice guy

venue was good... but unfortunately not one good word to be said from anyone about rest of tournament, they never learn from mistakes intact each year more and more problems ..shame as it could be a great tournament
